Disco synth-pop band Le Couleur releases their album, Concorde on the 11th of September via Lisbon Lux Records. The album is available as a limited edition 12” vinyl from the 28th of August and the digital album was premiered via Atwood Magazine. On the album is the exemplary song, Un simple vol d'après-midi (feat. Valence)’. The band has received significant support across the globe, having been featured in publications such as The Fader, Noisey, All Music, Flaunt Mag, Brooklyn Vegan, Exclaim!, mxdwn, Atwood Magazine, Beats Per Minute, NOVU, CBC Music,  and Made In Shoreditch amongst many others. The band is currently sitting at over 10.9 million plays across streaming platforms with features on noteworthy Youtube channels i'm cyborg but that's ok and David Dean Burkhart. Le Couleur has been nominated multiple times and won the GAMIQ prize for the ‘Best Electronic EP of the Year’ while their latest album (P.O.P) was selected among 40 Canadian albums on the Polaris Music Long List. The band has toured internationally multiple times, having performed at SXSW, FEQ, Osheaga and Liverpool Sound City.

Currently based in Montreal, Canada, Le Couleur is led by Vietnamese-Canadian singer Laurence Giroux-Do and consists of Laurence, Patrick Gosselin (Bass, keyboard and guitar) and Steeven Chouinard (Drums and sequence programming). When finding inspiration for their sound that crosses the borders of synth-pop, nu-disco and French pop, Le Couleur turns to the likes of The Beatles, Bowie, Steroalab, Queen, Led Zeppelin and LCD Soundsystem. Their own remarkable sound draws closer parallels to the likes of Róisín Murphy, ABBA and Sébastien Tellier.

Le Couleur flirt with the unusual in their magnificent album, Concorde. Finding inspiration in some darker topics, the trio approach each song with respect and reference. The overall album carries itself with a synth-pop infused dignity, gently easing the listen along a sparkling, French-disco journey of historical importance. ‘Un simple vol d'après-midi (feat. Valence)’ takes a light and cheerful approach, lightly teasing listeners with the cascading tones and radiant vocals.

Speaking of the album, Le Couleur tell us, “Objects, pictures, movies and architecture are big influences.  Then the story behind this magnificent plane (Concorde) was so easy to talk about.  Actually the object itself as well as the tragedy surrounding it inspire us to talk about more tragic situation:  Mental illness, sectarian collective suicide, a friend with drugs issues, etc...It quite a dark album now I describe it!  But it's never heavy and depressive since it's no personal situation.  These stories aren't to free ourself or anything like this.  We thought there were good themes to put sounds and images on.”
