In an ocean of haunting nostalgia,
‘About you’
swims through wave after wave of warm memory, pulsating to the rhythm of the downbeat. Each brittle vocal shard floats like a mote of dust caught in a sunbeam. Suspended, they begin plummeting into a pool of glittering synths, floating on the oscillating currents of
munro
’s immaculate production.
munro
describes the emotions that stimulated his creativity:
“There’s a really bold, assertiveness in the vocals that just floors me, and it really set the scene for the writing process. It doesn’t feel as hopelessly melancholic as, I guess I typically lean into, but it still maintains a level of, albeit, sobering sadness to it.”
