“Quaalude” narrates succumbing to a moment of weakness and regrettably ending up hurting someone who you love dearly. This lapse of judgment is conveyed through sensual instrumentation reminiscent of The Weeknd. Featuring vocals from fellow artist Brandt, “Quaalude” emits a laid back, sluggish vibe.

Flyght Club is the contemporary musical project of Indian artist Shauvik Sharan. Having moved to Los Angeles to pursue his music career, Flyght Club’s music demonstrates his extreme versatility, exploring a multitude of genres and themes, with every song being made to cater to different moods and emotions, essentially leaving him unchained from the boundaries of musical genres.

Originally from Pune, India, Sharan grew up on classic rock artists such as Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton and Pink Floyd, all of which contributed to his strong foundation in music and inspired him to pick up and master the guitar. His time spent in Los Angeles allowed him to master the art of production and engineering, as well as singing and songwriting, shaping him as the artist he is today.

His latest single “Quaalude” narrates succumbing to a moment of weakness and regrettably ending up hurting someone who you love dearly. The accompanying music video further portrays this story, with Sharan confiding, “I came up with a story where a guy is left to himself as his girlfriend goes on a work trip. Seeing this as an off day, he agrees to meet up with his college buddy and go partying. Before hitting the club, they decide to take quaaludes. The guy ends up meeting a girl and going over to her place before blacking out. The guy wakes up the next day with no memory of the previous night and feeling guilty about having cheated on his girlfriend. He finds himself tied to a bed. The girl from the night before turns out to be a satanist and plans to sacrifice the guy for a ritual. I found this situation so interesting to write about as it also brought in instant karma and crazy repercussions to cheating.”

This lapse of judgment is conveyed through sensual instrumentation reminiscent of The Weeknd. Featuring vocals from fellow artist Brandt, “Quaalude” emits a laid back, sluggish vibe. A slightly off-beat ticking sound that plays throughout the track represents being under the influence of a slow sedative drug such as a Quaalude, where time flows slower and switches pulses, leading to a false sensation of two separate streams of time flowing simultaneously.

With an ever-growing fanbase, Flyght Club has performed at prestigious venues across Los Angeles and continues to forge ahead with a slew of releases set to drop next year.

Also, the original song has a unique chordal feel to it, so it was difficult to find an arpeggio pattern that didn’t feel like a specific chord.”

Entitled “We Are The Power,” the songwriter invites us all to take part in healing the world together.

Featuring soulful vocals, a soaring melody, and a vivacious chorus complete with a gospel choir, the song is a most heartfelt demonstration of love, optimism, and vitality. Stefano confides, “It is a song that describes the importance of every person’s mission to use their individual gifts to unify the world in harmony and peace.” The song was produced by Chico Bennett (Madonna, Lady Gaga, The Killers, Prince).

Stefano is a singer, songwriter and piano virtuoso who fuses soul, pop and classical for an enthralling musical journey. The talented songwriter’s music is marked by hope, love and connection in the aim to heal.

Born in Soveria Mannelli, Italy, Stefano took to music at an early age and began classical piano training at age seven. He quickly gained notoriety by performing on popular Italian TV shows, and since then has collaborated with famed songwriters, as well as the famed director Franco Zeffirelli. Honing his craft further, the musician and singer has ultimately composed and scored motion picture soundtracks under the guidance of award-winning filmmaker Jamal Joseph.

« Crooked Eyes » takes a slight departure from Sticky Fingers’ signature style. Stripped back to the bones, Frost’s warm, honey-toned vocals melt over clean cut guitars and vintage organ. Layered harmonies create a spine-tingling atmosphere, reminiscent of a gospel choir, which nods to the song’s narrative of overcoming your hardships and finding the light at the end of the tunnel. « Crooked Eyes » raises a glass to all the ups and downs, acknowledging the darker times and finding gratitude for ultimately becoming stronger individuals.

Frost speaks about the creation of the song sharing, « I started recording Crooked Eyes by myself but I was shithouse with using software such as Fruity Loops and GarageBand…so I’d go back and forward playing it live then trying to make the melting computer work. For some reason that day “computer said no”. I guess that’s where Rage Against the Machine gets their name from? I remember one day Seamus rockin over in these tight little red hot shorts and me and Paddy were there…I think the other boys might have been there but I can’t remember. I would usually wake up and there would be randoms under the house or on the floor…everywhere and asking “you got a ciggy bro” in American accents, UK accents sometimes even languages I’d never fucking heard before. »

He continues, « Anyways … we’ve tried to crack this song multiple times throughout our career and have never nailed it. Until now. There are some shitty recorded versions, there are also some recorded versions which are too fucking tidy and not rough enough around the edges. I started writing the verses when I moved down south of Sydney and the song then became very personal due to my drug addictions and nifty mind sets. To be completely honest this song really is from the heart due to some pretty serious shit that has happened but also a toast to all of that shit that we were able to get over which felt soul replenishing. Once again this song wouldn’t be what it is if it weren’t for the whole Sticky family. It’s about our struggles and also the love we share for each other and our good times…you know, the usual shit. »

Bart & Baker, Dj, compositeurs et producteurs de musique, méritent bien leur qualificatif d’atypiques, tant leur style et leur approche personnelle des mélanges entre tradition musicale et recherches rythmiques n’a pas d’équivalent aujourd’hui.

Issus de courants musicaux en apparence opposés (musique classique et jazz pour Jo Baker et House Music pour Bart Sampson) le rapprochement de leurs deux discothèques a produit une synthèse entre les chants et mélodies empathiques et la réinvention constante que connaît la musique électronique.

Ils mixent depuis 2007, ont conçu à ce jour 5 albums originaux plus d’une vingtaine compilations pour Wagram Music. La série Electro Swing qui a donné son nom au genre musical (Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar, Caro Emerald) leur vaut d’ailleurs d’être considérés comme faisant partie des initiateurs de ce mouvement très dynamique en Europe et dans le reste du monde.

Aux platines, habillés de queue de pie et surmontés de haut-de-forme, ils mêlent les sons vintages avec les sons électroniques les plus actuels. Ils se sont produits à Glastonbury, Electric Forest Tomorrowland, Bestival, LoveBox et de nombreux autres festivals. Des mots qui s’effeuillent comme les pièces d’un puzzle, où passé, présent et futur s’assemblent et se désassemblent. Un monde qui oscille entre progrès et régression, tout est question de point de vue. Un son rock synthétique et envoutant, un refrain au « hook » imparable et fédérateur.

est ce genre de titre qui vous accompagne et prend différents sens tout au long d’une journée.

Un univers en perpétuel mouvement

Clin d’œil au monde télévisuel, intimement lié à l’histoire du groupe et de ses membres, la vidéo nous embarque dans une expérience «

à la Warhol

» à qui Jean Bocheux (membre du groupe et réalisateur du clip) a d’ailleurs voulu rendre hommage. Des bribes d’images se construisent et se déconstruisent ainsi sous nos yeux, nous invitant à nous attarder sur un détail pour aussitôt nous en éloigner.

Comme une entité fantasmagorique, les membres de Molly Pepper apparaissent par fragments, comme une humanité troublante au beau milieu d’un monde virtuel. On y retrouve aussi les grands moments m médiatiques du XXème siècle qui nous ont réunis et séparés (1er homme sur la Lune, le Mur de Berlin, l’effondrement des Twin Towers..). Mais si tout s’effrite et s’effondre dans ce monde virtuel, la musique sauve notre part d’humanité : « Nothing can take us apart ».

Une prouesse technologique

Afin de faire sens avec le texte de la chanson qui décrit un monde actuel qui ne voit pas clairement s’il avance vers « le progrès » ou s’il est en pleine régression, Jean Bocheux a choisi de filmer, ou plutôt de scanner les images avec

le scan lib de l’Iphone

.

Cet outil fait pleinement partie du monde dans lequel nous vivons «

This Is the world we’re living in…

» comme il est dit dans le refrain. Ensuite, avec l’expertise de la société Reepost, Jean Bocheux a retravaillé image par image les prises de l’iPhone, les a désintégrées pour mieux les recomposer dans un univers de réalité virtuelle de lieux qu’il a également scannés à l’IPhone.
