La musique de Franc Moody continue de déferler dans une veine de funk contemporain, inondé d’inspirations électroniques et de grooves lancinants. Comme Daft Punk et Jamiroquai avant eux, ils s’inspirent des sons, des styles et des techniques du funk, du disco et de la soul tout en y ajoutant des influences électroniques d’aujourd’hui.

Hum Hum est de retour à La Boule Noire pour un concert exceptionnel le jeudi 22 avril 2022. En 1ère partie, on pourra découvrir Sainte Victoire sur scène.

Avec leur premier album, le réjouissant Traversant, Hum Hum (la chanteuse électrique Sophie Verbeeck et le producteur avant-prog BT93), invente une pop des grandes plaines.

Formé de Sophie Verbeeck, parolière, chanteuse et actrice d’origine belge et de BT93, compositeur et musicien, le duo parisien Hum Hum vont nous jouer les titres de son dernier album, enregistré avec les musiciens de tournée d’Etienne Daho, et sous la houlette de Frédéric Lo.

La voix, mutine ou enjôleuse, passe du français à l’anglais afin de se lover dans des musiques tour à tour folk-rock ou nappées de claviers, quand elle ne se fait pas railleuse pour nous faire danser. A ne pas rater le 22 avril à la Boule Noire.

Après un EP remarquable, le duo formé par la parolière, chanteuse et actrice Sophie Verbeek et le producteur BT93, nommé Hum Hum, a dévoilé Traversant, un disque protéiforme, doté d’une pop aussi tragique que lumineuse. Il est des albums inspirés par les histoires d’antan qui s’inscrivent pourtant parfaitement dans leur époque. Traversant est de ceux-là.

Faisant le grand écart entre la pop des années 1970 et celle des années 1990, la musique de Hum Hum aura de quoi nous emporter au loin. Pouvant compter sur Frédéric Lo aux commandes, le duo nous hypnotise comme personne à l’écoute des titres aventureux tels que l’introduction nommée La revanche de la louve qui plante le décor comme il se doit mais également Rêves clandestins et King Kong Show aux rêveries rappelant aussi bien Kate Bush qu’Air en passant par Gainsbourg et Pink Floyd.

Entre les synthés obsédants de BT93 et l’interprétation marquante de Sophie Verbreck, le duo a rempli l’équation musicale parfaite. A ne pas rater sur scène le 22 avril 2022 à 20h.

Imprévisibles, sombres, rêveurs, les paysages sonores de Morfine nous plongent dans l’intimité de ses expérimentations. Après la sortie du single ‘Credo’ , Morfine présente le clip qui l’accomapgne, extrait de son prochain album prévu le 14 avril.

Réalisé par Thibault Prevost, tourné en Normandie, le clip met en scène une jeune fille d’une douzaine d’années somnolante et pensive. Attirée par un chant qu’elle décide de suivre, la jeune fille se retrouve face à un mystérieux édifice. Là, tout n’est que matière, couleurs, et déploiement d’imagination.

Imprévisibles, sombres, rêveurs, les paysages sonores de Morfine nous plongent dans l’intimité de ses expérimentations. Après la sortie du single ‘Credo’, Morfine présente le clip qui l’accompagne, avant la sortie de son album le 14 avril. Son approche singulière des voix et des harmonies, combinée aux effets futuristes qu’elle affectionne participent à repenser les frontières entre pop et musique électronique. Mais aussi à tisser des mondes illuminés de joies et de peines, qui n’auraient de limites que l’imagination.

C’est dans le Sud de la France qu’Estelle Morfin découvre très jeune le piano, puis le clavecin et la musique de chambre au Conservatoire de Nice. En parallèle de cette formation classique, elle est déjà captivée par les synthétiseurs et la production. C’est en arrivant à Paris en 2013, alors que la ville est en pleine renaissance artistique, qu’elle peut enfin nourrir pleinement ses compositions et sa passion grandissante pour l’électronique.

Après plusieurs remixes et premiers morceaux, le projet Morfine voit le jour, suivi par un premier EP AOTH (Affairs Of The Heart) sur le label Goldmin en 2015. Après un bel accueil critique, elle multiplie les dates à Paris et ailleurs en France (I.Boat, Nova Mix Club…). En 2019, Morfine remporte le concours INASOUND organisé par le groupe de recherche INA-GRM et se voit décerner le premier prix par le parrain et juge de l’édition : l’incontournable Jean-Michel Jarre. C’est lors des mois suivant ce succès que Morfine compose Blinding Nights, son premier album, qui mélange textures expérimentales et influences pop, et qui reflète, tant par les paroles que son style, ses expériences personnelles.

Mais Morfine a plusieurs vies : après des études en littérature, arts plastiques et en musicologie, elle écrit aussi pour la presse spécialisée musique et développe son autre projet musical, Roman Delore, davantage tourné vers l’ambient, la techno et la musique expérimentale. Productrice de plusieurs EPs, résidente sur la radio Rinse France avec une émission mensuelle, elle compte parmi les membres actifs de la scène parisienne underground.

Le DJ et producteur britannique TEED (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs) revient avec le single ‘Blood In The Snow’ et annonce son prochain album ‘When The Lights Go’ prévu le 22 julllet 2022, aux inspirations funk, indie, UK garage et house de Chicago.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, dévoile nouveau single sombre et captivant, nommé « Blood In The Snow », marquant un nouveau chapitre dans sa longue carrière. Ce titre est l’ouverture d’un regard sur un voyage profondément personnel à travers une période de dix ans où il est sûr de dire que la vie a été riche d’aventures.

Enregistré principalement dans le studio d’Orlando à Los Angeles, « When the Lights Go » est son premier album depuis « Trouble », paru en 2012 et acclamé par la critique. Ce nouveau disque marque un nouveau départ dans le son, défini bien sûr par les événements de ces dernières années.

Englobant l’écriture de chansons, de ballades et une esthétique centrée sur la pop, plein de sentiments, de récits et de malheurs. Une contrebasse et des claviers ouvrent la chanson avec une introduction tendue qui change de cap avec des mélodies obsédantes. Les synthés distordus font place à la nostalgie que l’on peut entendre dans sa voix délicate et arrivent à un crescendo haletant.

L’album ‘When the Lights Go’ est une œuvre substantielle, contenant 17 titres, représentatifs de la durée d’attentre entre les deux albums, « Je suis reconnaissant de savoir qu’il y a des gens qui s’intéressent à ma musique et je veux leur donner quelque chose de significatif en termes de durée » explique TEED.

Orlando reste un artiste qui sillonne les mondes des productions électroniques live et orientées vers les clubs, ces dernières définissant la tournée « A Dream I Have » récemment annoncée. Les 22 dates comprendront des lieux emblématiques tels que le Spybar de Chicago, le Flash de Washington, le Red Rocks Amphitheater, la scène DoLab de Coachella, etc. Cette tournée intervient en même temps que TEED est nommé aux Grammy Awards pour son titre « Heartbreak », avec Bonobo, dans la catégorie « Meilleur enregistrement de danse/électronique » cette année.

Bien que « When the Lights Go » soit le premier album complet d’Orlando, la période de la pandémie a été marquée par une production prolifique de l’artiste, notamment le EP « I Can Hear The Birds » de 2020, dans lequel il a utilisé des enregistrements en direct d’oiseaux du monde entier pour créer un brillant cycle de chansons instrumentales suivi de l’EP ‘The Distance’ en 2021, un quatre titres euphorique et influencé par le breakbeat, mettant en valeur l’écriture délicate des mélodies, son lyrisme et sa voix apaisante.

Taking inspiration from the tides of the sea, the song emulates the ebb and flow of the waves, reflecting the push and pull of something that feels organic, rhythmic and hypnotizing at the same time.

A modern music collaboration — Black Sands is the recording project of American producer Andrew Balfour. Collaborating with unique international vocalists on each record, he produces a synthesis of alt-pop, modern rock and experimental R&B reminiscent of The Weeknd and The 1975.

Following the release of his debut EP

Afterglow

, which was inspired by the loss of his sister and the process of stepping forward through grief, Balfour wanted to be intentional with the new songs he was writing. Originally inspired by the dark, confusing emotions of grief,

was about stepping forward into the light. He continues, “These new songs I’m releasing this year are all built around the concept of “Lightwaves” which is about embracing the dark and the light. Finding harmony and balance with the good and bad that life brings.”

His latest single “Deserve” brings a new collaborator into the mix – Isadora, a rising R&B artist based in Australia. Her Ariana Grande-esque vocals help bring a new element into the Black Sands sound. Taking inspiration from the tides of the sea, the song emulates the ebb and flow of the waves, reflecting the push and pull of something that feels organic, rhythmic and hypnotizing at the same time. “Deserve” symbolizes the concept and feeling of “Lightwaves”. Balfour shares, “There’s something beautiful yet dark about it. Deserve hits on the theme of loyalty and gratitude. Staying loyal and true to friends and relationships even when people are at their worst to help them persevere. The song comes from the perspective of being grateful for the people who stay by your side through thick and thin.”

Isadora’s vocals embellish the song with more power, dynamicity and emotional drive. Layered atop colorful synths, a throbbing bass line and oscillating percussion, the song comes alive, radiating the natural rhythms of the waves crashing against the sea shore and the airiness of being next to the water. He explains, “I like to take inspiration from all around me including nature, cities, architecture and design.”
