“This is my love song to Dwayne, but it also is a nod to my childhood. I remember sitting through pay-per-view matches when I was young, sandwiched between my brother and his friends, and wanting so badly to hang out with the big kids. During lockdown, I fell down the Dwayne rabbit-hole because of my Dad’s recommendation to watch Hobbs and Shaw. I now know more about Dwayne’s life than I ever would’ve imagined; every line of my song is a reference to his life and career. I may not have started writing I Love You, Dwayne as a super-fan, but I can certainly say I ended up as one. The answer to your next question is yes, I do love Dwayne.”

Miranda Joan is a Canadian soul-pop singer and songwriter born in Montreal and raised in Vancouver. Currently based in Brooklyn, Joan maintains strong roots in Canada. Joan divides her time between countries and it was her university studies in Jazz that originally brought her to New York, a city whose grittiness and intensity has influenced her artistry as profoundly as her bi-coastal upbringing. The fluidity that came with growing up along the Pacific Ocean in Vancouver and the joy-de-vivre and creativity that Montreal exuded continue to shape Joan personally, artistically and spiritually. Both her French and English backgrounds have made their way into her writing, which orients itself around story and lyrics and is largely influenced by her reverence for soul and pop music.

Miranda Joan was selected as one of First Up with RBCxMusic Emerging Artists in 2021, shared the virtual stage at CMW and has received radio airplay in Vancouver and Los Angeles. Joan has performed on national tours and played sold-out shows as well as headlined well-known NYC venues. In 2019, she performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival with the Orchestra National de Jazz de Montreal, led by Sly5thAve in a tribute to Dr. Dre, and she is a co-host and co-founder of Brooklyn’s Femme Jam (NYC’s first all-female led jam session) which is a community initalitve to create a women-lead space with an emphasis on female musicians that fosters inclusively and creates community. Le groupe GranGill a été formé il y a six ans, par deux potes Manu et Christof, qui fort de leur complicité, et du même goût pour les mots et la langue française, ont su imposer leur style entre variété et pop française.

Ce duo nous emmène, bercé par des mélodies parfois douces et enivrantes, mais aussi dans des sons beaucoup plus rythmés. Au fil des années ils ont su séduire un public de fans de tout âge qui apprécient la qualité de leurs textes mais aussi l’efficacité et la simplicité des mélodies qui restent en tête…Ils ont parcouru différents pays pour y faire découvrir leur univers, ils ont décidé d’entamer une tournée en France en 2023.

Après un passage à The Voice Kids, Arthur, à la fois chanteur, beatmaker, auteur et compositeur, fait les premières parties de Julien Doré, Marina Kaye ou encore de Keen’V. Cet autodidacte de 17 ans, aujourd’hui sous le nom de scène Arthur BLZO, rejoint Baboo Music pour la sortie d’un nouveau single.

Le jeune chanteur s’est entouré de Thibaut Grevsen pour le morceau “Sans Toi”.

« Sans toi », c’est d’abord un titre réalisé en moins de 24h, un véritable challenge que se sont donné Arthur et Thibaut Grevsen. Le morceau parle d’amour, de l’histoire de deux personnes qui vivent une même situation après une rupture, et qui réalisent que finalement « Sans toi, j’peux pas le faire sans toi ».

Après deux ans de cours de guitare, Arthur se lance en autodidacte et se fait repérer à seulement 9 ans par une casteuse de The Voice Kids, qui le contacte suite à sa reprise sur Youtube de Julien Doré.

Les 3 coachs se retournent et Arthur ira jusqu’au battles de la saison 2 de The Voice Kids, accompagné par Louis Bertignac.

Une de ses reprises de Julien Doré, diffusée sur la chaîne, attire l’attention du chanteur qui invite Arthur à le rejoindre sur sa prochaine tournée. C’est en mai 2017, à l’occasion du passage de Julien Doré au Zénith de Toulouse qu’Arthur le rejoint sur scène pour l’accompagner sur une chanson, devant 10 000 personnes. Son aisance mettra tout le monde d’accord : Arthur a ce qu’il faut pour devenir un grand.

Le tremplin The Voice permet à Arthur de tourner dans une mini-série, après avoir été contacté par la réalisatrice Coline Pagoda.

En 2016, il est sélectionné par Okaïdi pour monter le groupe « We are world citizen », et enregistre avec eux un album de chansons originales sur les droits de l’enfant.

Cette même année, il assure la première partie d’un concert de Keen’v.

Un an plus tard, Arthur est choisi pour interpréter la chanson de la pub « La nouvelle agriculture », diffusée sur l’ensemble des chaînes nationales.

Il fera, en septembre 2017, la première partie de Marina Kaye à Agen.

Aujourd’hui chanteur, auteur et compositeur, pratiquant aussi bien la guitare folk et l’électrique, que le ukulélé ou le piano. Il est également beatmaker sous le pseudonyme « AB on the track ». Il a d’ailleurs signé la composition du titre « Avenir » de NTH (Nathan de Kids United nouvelle génération) en 2020.

En fil rouge, nous retrouverons l’astronaute qui est toujours présent dans les clips de Courcheval, insouciant préoccupé, vivant systématiquement entre enfermement et liberté, il est irrémédiablement amené à son sort doux-amer.

Délibérément hors-cadre, Courcheval est depuis 2017 le projet d’un Guillaume Cantillon qui, s’il aime à faire solo, libre, et animé par un ardent désir de construire un champ musical bien à lui, a aussi le don de bien s’entourer.

En ce sens le bien nommé Gymkhana, en avril 2022, pose d’emblée des fondations solides et pourtant, initialement, le rendu frustrait Guillaume. Trop « normal », un brin trop prévisible, c’est avec l’aide de Benjamin Sportes (Futuro Pelo, ex Sporto Kantes) que l’EP trouve ses contours définitifs, la patte Courcheval que Guillaume appelait de ses vœux sans l’avoir complètement finalisée.

Parallèlement à cela l’image, allant de pair avec le contenu sonore et verbal, échoit à des dames au talent porteur. L’artiste graphique Franco-Marocaine Mariyem Moutaouakkil se charge des visuels. En ce qui concerne les clips, appliqués à «

Sur ce premier album éponyme au groove élégant et à la coolitude sulfureuse, on songe de manière éparse à Beck ou De La Soul pour l’audace et l’alliage stylistique, voire Gainsbourg pour le phrasé délié… 11 titres résolument addictifs.
