Leurs chansons pop/ rock aux influences Lumineers/ Coldplay ne renient aucunement ces prestigieuses références anglo-saxones. On retrouve dans leurs « hymnes » cette immédiateté « rock » qu’ont en leur temps porté au pinacle Louise Attaque/ Jean-Louis Aubert ou plus récemment Boulevard des Airs, Fréro Delavega, Arcadian, Tibz …

GAVINY

c’est l’incarnation de la France « conscience bon sens »… Celle des régions et de la proximité. Celle des musiciens proches de leur public qui arpentent les petites et grandes scènes avec toujours ce même enthousiasme. Leurs textes appartiennent à leur génération : celle des millénials touchés par les interrogations essentielles mais qui préfèrent les actions « colibris » aux grands discours…

Groupe né de la scène GAVINY passera notamment par Paris le 19 mai mais aussi en juin par le Vauban brestois, « à la maison ». Une quinzaine de dates est déjà planifiée pour cet été.

He shares, “It’s the feeling of wanting to get into something with someone, but having not enough time or patience to fully get there.” Featuring vocals from Benét, Sea Glass continues “The addition of Benét’s vocals helped expand on that theme, with their interpretation of not wanting to get into it with someone because your mind’s been made up. Their lyrics, to me, offer the perfect counterpoint to mine, highlighting the other side of a conversation.”

“Elevator Chat” sees the first time the artist showcases his own vocals, layering harmonies to create a depth and warmth to the chilled-out release. Twinkling melodies, a steady, plodding beat and ethereal vocals from Benét give a juxtaposed, feel-good atmosphere to the somber lyrics.

“I wanted this album to be my most ambitious and diverse work to date and it was. It has been over two years of hard work in collaboration with artists in more than 10 different countries. Genre-wise this has been a big step forward from the more niche lo-fi house and ambient music that I’ve made previously. One of my goals is to score films but with this album, there are at least 14 different music videos done now or in the works for a 12 song LP with remixes. We’ve shot in South Korea, Zambia, Canada, the UK, Germany and France all safe during the pandemic working with different film making teams for each.”

Entitled « I Will Survive », the song is an autobiographical narrative of Curtis transforming her life for the better and finding newfound purpose in being a mom to her new son. « I would say it’s about my son who showed me I have more to live for than I thought and I’m so thankful for him showing me what a life of happiness is. »

« I Will Survive » is a perfect anthem for National Women’s Month, the meaning is clear- women make impactful change as mothers, daughters, entrepreneurs, artists, sisters, wives, friends, role models and more.

Caitlynne Curtis started singing when she was 3 years old. She fondly remembers, « I used to sing to my grandma. » When she was 6 her mom put her in voice lessons. The minute she got her first solo she said, « It’s like I knew from then on that music is what I wanted to do. » Her parents moved her whole family down to Nashville from Massachusetts when she was twelve so that she could pursue music. After receiving a heartbreaking rejection from X Factor at the tender age of 16, Caitlynne thought she blew her chance at being a singer, but she never really gave up. Her life took a detour when she had her son at 19. Selling cars to support herself and her son, she would record covers of songs to her Instagram as a small way to keep her dream alive. Fortunately, the stars aligned and the right person came along to change everything. Now, thirteen years after moving to Nashville, Caitlynne is realizing her dream. Signed to Angels & Outlaws, an independent label spearheaded by rapper Struggle Jennings, she released her first full length album early in 2021. La musique des Electric Blue Cats est un alliage précieux composé de plusieurs styles incluant le rock, la funk ainsi qu’un soupçon de musique africaine. A l’écoute de ce trio hors norme, on pense immédiatement à des groupes mythiques comme Cymande, The Headhunters d’Herbie Hancock, ou bien Tame Impala.Dès les premières notes, on est hypnotisé par les rythmiques magiques du batteur extraordinaire Salah Khaïli, les vagues de riffs et de soli de guitare de l’incroyable Christophe ‘Tito’ Taddei, et la basse puissante d’Emmanuel qui cimente et démultiplie l’énergie du trio.

Tout au long de l’album, les effets électroniques élaborés avec les instruments – guitare, basse, batterie- créent une rythmique funk très syncopée. La ligne de basse d’Emmanuel sert de clef de voûte de chacun des 8 morceaux. Elle est agrémentée par le jeu pur et tranchant du batteur Salah Khaïli et rehaussée par mélodies aériennes du guitariste Christophe « Tito » Taddei. C’est une ville que j’ai connue déjà dans les années 80 à mon adolescence lorsque j’habitais chez Kenny Clarke à Montreuil. Cette vidéo montre un peu différentes facettes de la ville lumière, la nuit avec une ambiance d’appartement, un peu cinématographique, un clin d’oeil à Querelle de Fassbinder. Il y a le Bois de Vincennes qui est un monde en soit en pleine nature à l’est de Paris et les quais de Seine où j’aime me promener et laisser venter les idées »

Le compositeur et parolier David Linx revient avec Be My Guest, un album de partage, car il contient quinze duos avec des personnalités aussi différentes que Tigran Hamasyan, Or Solomon, Hamilton De Holanda, Trevor Baldwin, Nguyên Lê, Eric-Maria Couturier, Bart Quartier, Diederik Wissels, Rani Weatherby, Peter Hertmans, Gustavo Beytelmann , Marc Ducret, Ran Blake, Theo Bleckmann et Magic Malik.

Bruxellois de culture mais parisien d’adoption, formé au contact de grands musiciens américains, David Linx est, sinon le plus grand (citation de Jazz Magazine), en tout cas l’un des plus formidables chanteurs de jazz que l’on puisse entendre, doublé d’un homme de scène au grand cœur !

Ses premiers succès discographiques sur le fameux Label Bleu à la fin des années 90, en tandem avec le pianiste Diederik Wissels, ont définitivement renouvelé le jazz vocal et inspiré toute une génération de musiciens. David Linx a reçu récemment le prix Octave d’Honneur en Belgique pour l’ensemble de sa carrière, le prix Edison pour le meilleur album de l’année et a été de nombreuses fois récompensé en France : prix Charles Cros, prix de l’Académie du Jazz, Victoires du Jazz.

Ses collaborations avec Paolo Fresu, (Heartland) ou avec des musiciens tels que Armel Dupas, André Cecarelli, Guillaume de Chassy… comptent parmi les plus belles réussites du jazz actuel, dans une veine romantique et moderne à la fois.

I wrote this song months after my very toxic long term relationship ended, once the fog cleared and I was able to see that I should have left sooner. »

While her classmates were playing with Barbies, Los Angeles-based Bubble Rockstress Alexa Villa was playing on The Warped Tour. She has opened for acts including Hinds, The Darkness, Drake Bell, and Ryan Cabrera to name a few and has honed her craft as the sharp yet charismatic artist she is today.

With influences ranging from Miley Cyrus, Yungblud, 5SOS, Willow Smith, and Halysey to Gwen Stefani, and Alanis Morissette, the singer/songwriter/classically-trained pianist and producer empowers the listener to embrace their madness and be authentically imperfect, loud and abrupt. Alexa’s new single is entitled « Good Girl ». Says Villa, « I wrote ‘Good Girl’ about all the times I felt I was not taken seriously as a woman in my industry and in my relationships. I wrote it about all the times I’ve felt confused about my place in the world and the times I felt like I needed to hide. I wrote this song to redefine what a ‘Good Girl’ is. I’ve caught myself and I’ve seen so many of my friends, strong and beautiful women, altering themselves to fit inside the box that was created for us. Why do we have to wear pink, have the perfect body, or be quiet and look pretty to be feminine? And if we do live outside the box why do we as women then become stereotypes? I wrote this song at a time when I was frustrated and angry about the rules. Rules that were so clearly made to be broken. I don’t have to be anything but myself to be a woman. I wake up everyday and get to decide who I want to be. That’s what this song is about. »
