Before she was Party Nails, Elana Carroll was a guitar-toting tween songwriter, playing any open mic she could near her hometown of Chatham, New York. Performing solo or with a band of seasoned adult players backing her up, she wailed lyrics about her family’s divorce, dreams of leaving her small town, and a then-undiagnosed anxiety disorder across biker bars and community centers, often met with tears from patrons moved by her fearless expression of raw emotion. At home she recorded herself with Garageband, instigating a love of music technology which continues to this day (she moonlights as a software tester and composer for boutique synthesizer company Noise Engineering).

Party Nails debuted in 2015 on Neon Gold’s famed blog with “Break”, a heartbreak dancepop single following the footsteps of happysad classics such as “Dancing On My Own” and “Blue Monday”. In 2016 on the Noisey blog Party Nails debuted “No Pressure”—think Haim instrumentation paired with Taylor Swift melodies—before leaving a 360 deal and rebuilding independently. was equal parts collaborations—Caleb Shreve, Ryan Nasci, Mereki Beach, to name a few—and self-produced, engineering and playing guitar, bass, synthesizers and programming electronics alone in her home studio. Her first US tour in 2017 (with PVRIS and Lights) ushered in a devoted fanbase, and her live performances continue to be a core facet of her artistry, being equal parts Madonna, Hayley Williams, and Sheryl Crow.

During the COVID pandemic she wrote a song for Kathryn Hahn’s character to sing about period pride for Loren Bouchard’s Apple animated series

Central Park,

wrote and produced the Le Tigre-infused “Supernatural” for feminist rock duo Deap Vally, and continued to lend her vocals to other musicians, LŪN and Urban Heat both releasing music featuring Party Nails in 2022. If history is any indication, Party Nails won’t stop expressing herself through music, and her best work as an artist is ahead of her.

Already 2023 is off to a banging start with “Like U”, a house-inspired dance collaboration with Austin-based queer pop icon, Boy Sim (who also co-wrote and produced the track). “You can be iconic and true to yourself and also full of love for others,” Party Nails says about the song. “‘Like U’ is about how the best love and support is from people who want you to shine as bright as possible. I like to think of it as our homage to ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’—that line where Cyndi Lauper sings ‘I wanna be the one to walk in the sun.’ That. It’s meant to be danced to alone or with friends. We even thought about releasing it with a surgeon generals warning: this music may cause severe dancing.”

WESSON is a British alt/rock band led by singer/songwriter Chris Wesson. Based in Milton Keynes, the four-piece band was formed under the mutual decision to find like-minded souls who needed music as part of their everyday life and essence to their being. Along with bassist Callum, guitarist Jimmy, and drummer Dale, WESSON creates music which is relatable, conversational and meaningful.

With each band member coming from a different musical background, WESSON soaks up an amalgam of influences, resulting in a collective mix of pop, punk rock and indie with soaring vocal parts and an overall sound which is entirely its own.

Emitting a gritty rock undertone, bold melodic bass riffs and driving drum beats, WESSON delivers a soundtrack to everyday life events, touching on reflections and memories that pass them by. Avec lui, la chanson française est baignée d’influences pop 80’s et new wave. La sortie de l’album Auto Fictions marque pour ce producteur, compositeur et multi-instrumentiste l’aboutissement d’un travail d’écriture et production long de 4 ans (depuis l’EP Riviera). Depuis de nombreuses années, Guillaume Léglise s’est fait un nom dans le paysage de la pop française, à la réalisation, production ou mixage de plusieurs projets d’artistes. Ce musicien de l’ombre se dévoile enfin à travers un premier album lettré et ambitieux, aux contours atypiques.

Son premier véritable album Auto Fictions paraît le 14 mars 2023 chez le label La Tebwa. Sur scène il est accompagné depuis deux ans à la basse et aux chœurs par Clémence Lasme qu’on a pu notamment voir sur scène accompagnant Pomme, Moodoïd… Seul maître à bord de son studio de Belleville, il compose une galerie de portraits, qu’il dévoile peu à peu en EPs aussi sensuels que conceptuels, mariant la musique de club aux mélodies limpides des dandys pop français (Serge Gainsbourg, Alain Chamfort, Philippe Chany), le français lettré à l’ivresse du noctambule, la poésie décadente à la langueur d’une after.

Ses chansons déploient ainsi une riche galerie de personnages, décors, situations, chaque chanson apparaissant comme le nouveau chapitre d’un recueil d’histoires, derrière lesquelles opère le producteur. Sur EP1, il mariait les corps désirants à la matière inanimée. Entre le Crash de Ballard et la magie noire des trottoirs parisiens, ses cinq premières aventures dessinaient, à travers cinq portraits de femmes, celui d’un narrateur quêtant l’amour, aussi baladeur que baladé, dans une ambiance gris-métal.

Après un EP qui convoquait d’éphémères rencontres amoureuses dans la torpeur urbaine des années 1980 (celles de la new-wave, du Palace et des films noirs de Pialat), Guillaume Léglise est revenu avec Riviera, un EP estival, distillant une moite langueur synthétique, comme une idylle entre la tentation Ibiza de New Order (la basse Peter Hook de Riviera) et l’English Riviera de Metronomy (lustre de la production, dissonances de l’étrangeté), à mi-chemin entre froideur des machines et profondeur des émotions. The artist has witnessed early stages of dementia develop into more serious stages of Alzheimer’s amongst friends and loved ones alike and draws passion for this cause from his own personal memories. With the dedicated research of ARPF and the immense power that music plays in the healing process, May hopes his new single will shed light on the Alzheimer’s community and provide comfort to those suffering.

A classically trained pianist and superior vocalist, Stefano relies on his mediums of expression to create a moving blend of dynamic piano arrangements and deep, stirring vocals. Stefano is a singer, songwriter and piano virtuoso who fuses soul, pop and classical for an enthralling musical journey. The talented songwriter’s music is marked by hope, love and connection in the aim to heal.

Born in Italy, Stefano took to music at an early age and began classical piano training at age seven. He quickly gained notoriety by performing on popular Italian TV shows, and since then has collaborated with famed songwriters, as well as the famed director Franco Zeffirelli. Honing his craft further, the musician and singer has ultimately composed and scored motion picture soundtracks under the guidance of award-winning filmmaker Jamal Joseph.

Né dans l’intimité de leur studio en périphérie de Paris, l’album ‘Walking on the Line’ est le produit de deux ans de composition. Alors que les 2 premiers EPs du groupe invitaient à la rêverie loin de l’effervescence quotidienne, l’album ‘Walking on the Line’ se présente comme une célébration de l’instabilité de la vie.

Ce premier disque reflète le chemin magnifiquement sinueux que nous traversons tous : du violent retour à la réalité avec le morceau d’ouverture ‘Back to Heaven’ en passant par les multiples tumultes des histoires de passion ‘Woman’, de chaos ‘Eye of the Storm’, de solitude ‘When She’s Gone’ pour finir par trouver l’apaisement à travers la contemplation de la nature avec ‘Lemon Trees’.

C’est la passion pour la musique qui fait se rencontrer Charles, Paul, Noah et Théo. Se réunissant toutes les semaines pour composer, écrire, ou encore prendre des pauses café interminables sur la terrasse, le groupe noue une amitié au fur et à mesure que se forge leur identité musicale.

Rapidement, cette identité prend un nom: Later. Alternant entre leurs deux studios situés dans le quartier animé de Pigalle et dans une maison isolée en périphérie de Paris, Later. est riche de paradoxes qui en font leur force: le groupe français écrit ses chansons en anglais, s’inspirant de styles et d’époques propres à chaque membre, de la pop au jazz, à la soul à la french-touch et au rock, pour façonner une musique intimiste, spontanée mais richement produite.

En mars 2019, leur musique attire l’attention du label français Kitsuné qui sort leur premier single « L.Y.E ». Peu de temps après, ils signent chez Cookie Records leurs deux premiers EPs « On Time » et « The Daydream » qui reçoivent l’attention de plusieurs radios comme Nova, FIP, et France Inter qui les reçoit au micro de Laurent Goumarre.

Un an seulement après leurs débuts, Bon Entendeur leur propose de sortir « Get up! » à l’occasion de leur toute première compilation.

Leur morceau phare « Highway 10 » a même été joué et partagé depuis l’espace par l’astronaute Thomas Pesquet lors de sa dernière mission. Déjà annoncé avec plusieurs singles et des clips diffusés jusqu’à MTV Mexico et au sein de la BO de la dernière saison d’Emily in Paris, leur premier album « Walking on the Line » sortira le 17 mars 2023.

Mayfly, le duo canadien composé de Charlie et Emma, dévoile HIDEAWAY Vol.1, un EP composé de sept titres. Tout au long de l’année 2022, Mayfly nous a présenté quatre singles parfaits : Black Water, Passenger Seat, Pretty Ending et All Dreams Fade.

Entre pop et électro, le duo nous plonge dans une atmosphère ténébreuse d’où jaillit la grâce et la lumière. A chaque nouveau single, Charlie et Emma restent fidèles à la touchante sensibilité qui traverse leurs voix hypnotiques, en nous entraînant toujours plus profondément dans la rêverie, et en mariant des textures brutes et organiques à des rythmes dansants et libérateurs.

Take Me Away est l’extrait phare du tout nouveau EP HIDEAWAY Vol 1 de Mayfly. Ce titre dessine les contours de l’envoûtante dystopie imaginée par le duo d’auteures-compositrices-interprètes. Parmi les strates électroniques rythmées se glissent des harmonies vocales à l’interprétation maîtrisée et sensible. Le message porté évoque un sombre désir de fuite, tout en cohérence avec la structure progressive de la chanson, qui amène par elle-même une irrésistible sensation d’évasion à celui ou celle qui l’écoute.

Mayfly. Un symbole de ce qui est éphémère. Une incarnation rappelant l’importance de vivre tout en restant en phase avec ses émotions et son vécu. Le duo de femmes, composé de Charlie et Emma, porte un nom et prône un art qui inspirent à saisir l’instant et à suivre l’instinct.

Après la sortie de quatre singles en 2022, Black Water, Passenger Seat, Pretty Ending et All Dreams Fade, Mayfly présente HIDEAWAY Vol 1, un imposant EP de sept morceaux sous le label canadien Duprince. Ces deux auteures-compositrices-interprètes, âgées de 22 ans, sont basées à Montréal. Elles s’auto-produisent et déploient une captivante musique qui permet de s’échapper dans une autre réalité. Elles apposent également sur leur projet une forte vision multidimensionnelle, enveloppant leurs chansons d’une fascinante esthétique visuelle. Elles ont notamment collaboré avec Adrian Villagomez (Denzel Curry, Apashe, Jean-Michel Blais…) pour la réalisation des vidéos accompagnant Black Water, Passenger Seat, et All Dreams Fade.

Leur premier EP intitulé Essence (2021) a su envoûter par son univers musical empreint de mélancolie et de vulnérabilité, merveilleusement porté par l’unisson de leurs voix. Avec HIDEAWAY Vol 1, le duo délaisse sa chrysalide pour un son plus sombre, empreint de tonalités électro-pop et d’arrangements magnétiques.

Écrit pendant la pandémie, le morceau ne se contente pas de se demander si nous allons revenir à la normalité, mais si la normalité était vraiment si géniale que ça. Le son imprégné des années 80 fait ironiquement passer le message que tout était mieux avant, remettant en question les clichés machistes sur ce qui fait un groupe de rock en 2023.
