“dj poolboi contacted me with an instrumental he wanted me to sing on and I really connected with the music and atmosphere of it all. I usually write in first person but I tried instead to write from the perspective of someone who was struggling with their idea of love and the evolution/disintegration of their feelings towards family, friends and loved ones, some lost to time and others about to be. I’m extremely happy with how it came together and was honoured to be a part of it.”

“I fell in love with Fog Lake’s music the first time I heard it. At the time I had been writing more piano and acoustic instrumentals and reached out to Aaron to work together. I wanted a break from writing electronic focused music to maintain my creativity and sanity. The vocals and lyrics he wrote are equally haunting and beautiful; coupled with his guitar and wonderful vocal melodies. It was a pleasure working with him, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

“Bow Out” is an exciting progression that combines poignant vocals, soft piano movements and electronic-pop layers.

Berkshire-born, London based singer-songwriter Lorne is a classically trained pianist, whose life has been shaped by music. Introduced to piano from just seven years old, his life has been trickled with creativity, enriching his mind and sculpting his future as a musician. After first listening to Peter Gabriel’s music in his teens, Lorne was taken by his sound and notes the musician as a great influence for his music. Also drawn to established songwriters such as Damien Rice, Coldplay and Elbow, his attraction to melodic pop and ambient rock is evident in his ideas.

released in 2017, “Bow Out” is an exciting progression that combines poignant vocals, soft piano movements and electronic-pop layers. Inspired by the end of a friendship, the track emits a cloudy haze, with the atmospheric soundscapes, rushing strings and building percussion adding power and weight to Lorne’s melancholic song structures. Lorne shares, “In the lyrics, I looked for ways to describe the need for space and a way out of a difficult situation”.

Keen to mimic the reflective mood of the track, Video Director Olly Cooper conceived the idea for the artwork, with the moody visuals on West Wittering Beach capturing the pensive sentiment of the track.

Coffees & Cigarettes est composé de Renaud Druel aka MC Jesse (auteur, compositeur et interprète) accompagné d’Anna Swieton au violon ou Lyllou Chevalier à l’Alto ou encore Quentin Gendrot au Violoncelle.

Entre humour et nostalgie, le nouvel album de Coffees & Cigarettes nous offre un Hop’n’roll plus assumé que jamais, véritable cocktail original entre hip-hop et rock’n’roll à bien secouer avant de consommer !

biosphere is an Asian-Canadian, 21-year-old composer and producer based in Toronto. He initially experimented with the lo-fi/hip hop sound but has recently ventured into R&B, soul, and orchestral styles. BINNY is a bedroom pop artist born and bred in Maryland. Having sung before he could even talk, BINNY’s musicality runs deep in his veins. Growing up in a family of musicians, he learned piano from the early age of six, before self-teaching the guitar and eventually going on to songwriting and producing.

“After Hours” is the indulgent new track inspired by the challenges faced when trying to find the balance between work and relationships. Produced and written himself, with mixing by his brother, Brandon Lim and mastering by Jonas W. Karlsson (John Legend, Jhene Aiko, Tinashe, FLETCHER), the song offers a flicker of sensual euphoria, floating with themes of connection and romance, and capturing the essence of escape you feel when you’re with someone you care about. Sonically stimulating, the tune is dripping with silky vocals, dreamy synths and 808s; aligning with BINNY’s previous releases.

Admitting how both listening and writing music is equally therapeutic, BINNY hopes that by conveying his true emotions and thoughts may act as a form of medication for audiences. He also strives to represent Asian Americans in pop culture and mainstream music, something that he feels lacks recognition. He shares, “I hope to be a part of that change and be an inspiration for other Asian Americans who want to pursue music.”

BINNY is also a fashion enthusiast, using style to express himself. The singer shares, “It’s also important for me that my music is translated visually in what I’m wearing.” Aside from songwriting, BINNY also grew up doing theater in school and took part in numerous productions. In college, he was a part of an award-winning a cappella group that got to compete in the International Championships of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) on Broadway.

La vie passe tellement vite. Ce sont ces personnes, ces liens qu’on crée de génération en génération qui forment nos valeurs et qui on devient. »

Globetrotteuse, Laura Anglade partage son enfance entre le sud de la France et les États-Unis avant de s’installer à Montréal où elle est depuis reconnue comme une des voix les plus prometteuses de la nouvelle scène jazz. Influencée par le parcours musical de ses parents, la jeune chanteuse de 23 ans s’inspire de ses idoles, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan et Anita O’Day depuis un très jeune âge. La chanteuse a réalisé en 2019 son premier album très justement intitulé I’ve Got Just About Everything. Dotée d’une voix pleine et chaleureuse, ses performances révèlent une interprète à la fois circonspecte et expressive qui maîtrise parfaitement l’art de l’intensité.

Aujourd’hui, la chanteuse prépare la sortie de son album Venez Donc Chez Moi, accompagnée du guitariste Sam Kirmayer dans lequel on retrouve des grands standards de la chanson française revisités avec brio.

(2018), cette fois en trio aux côtés de l’organiste Ben Paterson et du batteur Dave Laing. Campé dans la tradition, le guitariste s’illustre par la maturité de son jeu et par son phrasé limpide et sophistiqué.

Avec l’album Venez Donc Chez Moi, Laura Anglade et Sam Kirmayer s’inscrivent dans la grande tradition du jazz vocal et nous ramènent à une époque où le jazz puisait ses standards dans la chanson populaire.
