, c’est notre raison, bien ancrée dans le sol. Cet endroit rassurant, d’où prendre de la hauteur pour voir arriver les problèmes. Qui dit en hauteur dit proche du ciel, mais ce mirador est pourtant si loin des nuages et du charme des rêves. L’amour, oui, mais comment le vivre en toute simplicité, et sans précisions si chaque doute est un poison ?

Après un premier EP (2015) et un album sorti en 2016, ALBA vient de terminer l’enregistrement de son nouvel album dont on peut déjà écouter trois extraits : Range-Toi, Préface et Mirador.

Artiste-peintre, auteure, compositrice et interprète franco-mexicaine, ALBA a de multiples activités. Elle est en charge de la musique de l’émission Game of Roles diffusée sur Twitch.

Elle vient également de signer chez Dupuis pour la production d’un webtoon musical – ACA – qui sera diffusé sur WebtoonFactory en 2022. Elle y apparaît comme co-scénariste, compositrice et en charge du sound design. En parallèle de l’univers d’ACA, la communauté soutient le projet sur la plateforme Patreon.

Elle publie également régulièrement des covers pour « Le jour de la reprise » sur sa chaîne YouTube. De formation artistique, elle a commencé par la sculpture sur métal et la peinture et expose chaque année. ALBA est aussi une artiste NFT.

Ce nouvel album prévu pour début 2022 est la première production du label Sound and Vision Music.

Philippe Prohom, ce sont quatre albums, un live, un EP, des clips, de la scène, beaucoup de scènes, de la transmission, de la formation d’artistes, quelques singles qui tournent en radio et puis un chemin de Compostelle en vidéo.

Depuis le succès de “Ca oublie d’aimer” en 2002, un titre blue line, au croisement du trip hop et de la chanson, Philippe marche, contemple et cherche à s’approcher au plus près de ses émotions. Oublier le cérébral pour toucher le cœur.

”Je suis en fait comme… les autres hommes “ avouait-il avec humilité et courage en 2007, sur l’album “Aller Retour”, dans la chanson “La fille du train“, et comme la vie a de l’humour, c’est à pied qu’il deviendra un autre homme.

A partir de 2015, il prend le chemin de Compostelle, expérimente la pleine présence en centre boudhiste, et fait enfin son coming-out de magnétiseur. “J’essaie de marcher ma parole “ explique-il. Le regard toujours tourné vers les autres, au fil des années il apprend à soigner, les animaux, les humains, il voyage au Brésil, en Inde, et raconte, espiègle, ses aventures sur youtube en vidéo ; des heures de sourire et d’évasion douce.

Ces deux dernières années, Philippe écrit et compose l’équivalent de deux albums, il s’isole, fait le tri dans le flot de tous ses mots. Il quitte la ville pour cultiver son jardin, au calme, dans la Drôme, puis dans un chalet en pleine nature. Il pétrit doucement le vivant.

C’est ainsi que commence l’histoire de ce nouveau disque, tel le peintre qui dessine le monde d’une simple ligne, Philippe Prohom pose des textes précis et essentiels.

“Brille pour toi”, pierre angulaire de ce disque, berce d’un amour ému, sa fille qui grandit. ” A défaut de paradis je te laisse l’utopie, Celle qui n’est pas, pas encore… Tu peux briller pour elle et commencer par ça. Tu le peux, et tu le pourras. Et tu sais pourquoi ? Parce que tu brilles déjà.” Une chanson à tirer les larmes des pires crocodiles.

“C’est beau”, le premier titre de l’album est tout cabossé, un objet sonore, en boucle de mots et en fracas. C’est beau mais pour encore combien de temps ? Il en faut un esprit farceur, pour questionner la solidité de l’harmonie de la nature en déconstruisant la mélodie !

“C’est Beau” est la préface d’un disque lumineux. Une ode à la nature, à la liberté, consciente de sa fragilité tout autant que de ses forces.

BRILLE, c’est 2021 qui prend le temps de regarder dans le rétroviseur avant de s’engager dans le monde de demain. Philippe sort son premier disque à 32 ans, la cinquantaine aujourd’hui, ses sons reviennent de loin : des boucles de vinyles empruntés à son père, des synthés et des beats transformés, alchimiste, sur un seul ordinateur, des sons bidouillés et re-bidouillés encore, sur des chansons d’hier qui mènent à aujourd’hui.

En écho à “C’est beau”, “Regarde”, neuvième et dernier titre du disque, épilogue malin, Philippe nous prend par la main et nous invite à nous aimer un peu plus, à simplement jouir des plaisirs simples. “Je n’ai plus peur de la mort. Quand je sens le soleil réchauffer mes doigts, Regarde, c’est beau. Écoute, regarde.” Ce sont ses derniers mots.

Enfin, notre Siddharta, n’oublie pas en bêchant la terre de son jardin spirituel, tous les plaisirs du corps. Celui de l’endorphine dans Cardiovasculaire et puis, qu’on y arrive ou pas, la magie de l’expression de soi, dans “Facile”, le paradoxe d’un morceau à danser où l’on ne danse pas et “tu peux même danser”, qui enfonce le clou de la joie que l’on se doit.

Philippe Prohom, ne cherche pas la foule et la reconnaissance, il nous couvre de tendresse et nous rapproche du vrai, il viendra si vous lui demandez, chanter chez vous, parce qu’il veut nous connaître, un par un, pour nous faire danser, penser, juste profiter d’un moment. Ensemble.

Entitled « December, » the song is a romantic winter song about new love – how uncertain it is, and what it’s like to miss that special someone when they’re away from you.

The song has a reggae-like feel to it. “I’m a big Bob Marley fan” says Star2. The musical arrangement is sparse, yet very effective at providing the emotional landscape for the song. Drums, bass, a steel drum/music box sounding synth, piano and strings round it out. “We wanted something almost like a reggae lullaby. The main melody would be something like what you’d hear coming from a music box on your dresser – except with steel drums, and accompanied by an orchestra!” Star2’s voice retains its trademark urban heart over the pulse of the reggae-flavored beat. His voice pleads and pleas – his yearning for his girl is palpable and very familiar to anyone in love.

Moral: never give up on the person you love – true love has a happy ending!

Star2 is an Asian-American singer, songwriter and rapper who seamlessly blends pop, R&B and hip-hop for an enthralling immersion of sound. Raised in inauspicious circumstances, Star2 takes influence from overcoming his life struggles, creating music that is bold, high-spirited and soulful.

Star2 is a true survivor. Born into a refugee camp in Thailand, his family walked over 500 miles through the jungle to escape Burmese soldiers when they attacked and burned down their village. As Karen’s (Kuh-ren), a minority group that the Myanmar government has tried to destroy, Star2 (and his family) has faced immense adversity and racial opposition for generations. With no father or mother by his side, his grandmother was chosen in a lottery to be able to migrate to the United States and at the age of six years old, took him to San Diego where he began his new life. Unfortunately it wasn’t an easy one, as a young kid living in the inner city, his family struggled financially and he lived with an uncle who was addicted to drugs. Adapting to living in a new world filled with cars, electricity and paved roads, he was overwhelmed and overstimulated. Star2 found solace, however, turning to music as a teen, learning to rap, sing, write and perform. With a diverse set of influences including Justin Bieber, Tyga, Chris Brown, and more, he developed his own musical style complete with winning hooks, rich harmonies, and distinctly progressive R&B soundscapes.

Since 2020, the prolific songwriter has released a series of singles and has captivated audiences with his genre-bending music that rings true and respected. His last unveiling is a collaboration with the credited rapper Luh Kel. Titled “I Wanna Get F’d Up” the song is about heartbreak, abandonment, and disillusionment. Star2 paints the scene of painful relationship dynamics that is highly relatable. “I Wanna Get F’d Up” is a raw and authentic narrative of lost love. « I wanted to write a song with the backstory of the best relationship of your life that blows up out of nowhere leaving you wondering what happened- leaving you in pain and wanting to self-medicate. It was a dream come true to do a song with Luh Kel, my dude. Our song is the diary of a toxic relationship with a toxic shawty you loved heart and soul who cheated. Even though it’s hard because you really love that one person – there is at least one time for everyone when after a breakup you just want to be gone – gone from the universe. » The single is an emotional exorcism complete with an infectious French horn melody, somber lyrics, and soul-infused vocals over a prominent hip hop beat. His talent is undeniable.

« Real Life » is Star2’s latest hit with Jacksonville, Florida’s Lil Poppa. A child of a refugee camp, Star2 and Lil Poppa bond through their experiences growing up in inner city poverty – Lil Poppa in Florida and Star2 in San Diego, California, they both sing “I live in a place where you hear sirens all the time” throughout the song. The urban rhythmic elements of the song are presented in an overlay of classical piano and a rush of strings that bring sorrow, angst, and despair. The haunting ballad is accomplished by an A-flat major chord progression with a B-major melody across it along with rich layers from drums, bass, and a trap drum beat. The despair is highlighted by distorted 808’s and trap drums – creating the feeling of desperation and deprivation along the backdrop of violence in the refugee camp as well as the urban hood. Star2’s lyrics tell us “I grew up in the jungle” and “if it weren’t for the music, I wouldn’t be here today.” He also remembers that to help support his grandma, who brought him from the refugee camp, “gotta hustle on the block…I was just too young, I was just a kid.”

The slow-burning single “40 Days” tells a subtly complex story about a struggle to let go, while the music video reflects the feeling and themes of the song’s narrative – interiority, repetition, longing.

Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez is a singer/composer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born into a family of musicians, music was Raina’s first language and it runs deep within her veins. Rooted in Jazz and R&B, the songwriter invites us into her unique sonic world with harmonic nuance and lyrical poetry.

Raina’s cross-genre style is built from the bottom up. With improvisation as a starting point for her songs, Raina draws on her emotionality and leans into her perception of the world around, uncovering hidden depths within daily life and articulating personal truth with vulnerability and bravery. Songwriting is her way of processing and understanding life in all its complexity.

is the slow-burning single “40 Days” – a subtly complex story about a struggle to let go. It’s hard to let go and it’s especially hard to let go of people who have hurt you, as backwards as that may seem. At the core of “40 Days” is the desire to let go, to be soft, to live in expansive harmony, and the accompanying choir embodies that desire. Community, shared truth and recognition help set us free.

The music video reflects the feeling and themes of the song’s narrative – interiority, repetition, longing. The artist shares, “Quickly this idea of inside/outside came into focus and I started to imagine the perfect space to contain this vision. I reached out to my friends at the Suminski Innski in Tivoli, New York. The Inn is so beautiful and unique, it has real character.” Directed by Sofia Geld, the video beautifully articulates these themes in both a visceral and poetic way. Raina continues, “Along with DP Alice Plati, Movement Director Lisa Fagan, and Creative Consultant Sylver Wallace, we started to imagine how to move from tightness to space, from darkness to light, from inside to out.”

The song strives to let go, the video calls us out into the light and the air and the trees. With interiority – mind, home – as both container and confines, this video explores the push/pull of the internal struggle to let go, to find space, and to break out of holding patterns. Playing with repetitions of hands and touch, the video brings us into an intimate sensorial place. As the video develops, some of that introspection moves outward as we finally see the three bodies together. We are reminded that though we can feel so alone in our personal experiences of loss, that these are shared struggles, as private as they may be. Raina shares, “Dancers Jen Payan and Holly Sass brought so much passion to the video. Watching them work on set was so moving – it allowed me to hear the song as if for the first time as I watched their interpretations. Lisa Fagan’s curiosity and playfulness as a choreographer allowed us to see conventional spaces in a new way, opening up possibilities.”

With over 600k streams on Spotify and a budding global audience, RSG has packed rooms at prestigious venues such as Brooklyn Bowl, SOB’s, Mercury Lounge, and many others. With her first Europe tour set for February 2022, this soulful singer has great things on the horizon.

“Makan” narrates the story about being forced to leave home for a better life and being torn apart from the feeling of having to leave or stay. Imad continues, “The past year living in Lebanon has been extremely tough, with constant blackouts, wifi crashes, fuel crisis, economic collapse, it was very challenging to keep productive and be inspired. »

Imad is a 21 year old artist and visionary based between Beirut, Lebanon and London, UK. Imad blends his Middle Eastern and African heritage with Melodic Techno and Deep House, to produce a unique sonic soundscape. His music delves into who he is as both an artist and individual, unveiling stories about his life experiences, emotions and cultural identity, all woven together with an underlying mood of melancholy mixed with hope and love.

His latest single “Makan” was originally written as a submission for entry at Point Blank Music School in London, but was later rewritten with artist Samia, following the devastating explosion in Beirut. The artist confides, “That was a turning point for a lot of people in the country, as the general economic, social and quality of life in Lebanon had been rapidly declining. It was after that that we revisited it once more, dedicating it to the relationship a lot of us have with Lebanon.”

“Makan” narrates the story about being forced to leave home for a better life and being torn apart from the feeling of having to leave or stay. Remembering the people you love, the many faces that hold sad stories of life in your hometown (Beirut). The song features Samia’s smooth English vocals mixed with subtle Arabic poetry which translate to, “I will always remember them, Whilst crying and yearning, Whenever I close my eyes, I see the same place.”

Hints of his multicultural upbringing are evident throughout the track, with an array of different instrumentation such as djembes, kora, oud and mbira, being mixed with his love of electronic music and analog synthesizers.

With a growing catalog reaching 50 million streams and receiving support from the likes of Martin Garrix, Jonas Blue, Lost Frequencies and more, Imad’s music has been taking the electronic scene by storm, aired on Triple J, Sirius XM, and On Air with Ryan.

Imad’s passion for music extends even further with the announcement of his own record label, Evil Eye. By building his own label, the artist is able to showcase talents from the Middle East, allowing their music to reach international audiences.

I think it’s an important song because part of any healthy relationship is a willingness to listen and try to meet the other’s needs better, and one of the greatest gifts someone can give you is seeing and working with you as you are, to work and grow together. It’s a personal story about a relationship that taught me a lot about myself – and ultimately the hardest lesson I had to learn as that relationship ended was to be alright being on my own rather than seeking solace from someone else. I was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s honest vulnerability in his music and the hopeful joyous feeling of true acceptance, which I felt from another and am working to feel toward myself. »

standing as their most kaleidoscopic work to date. Merging the quintessential melodies of pop’s past with contemporary touches to forge something truly unique, Hot Flash Heat Wave is just starting to create their own sonic world.

All three members of Hot Flash Heat Wave have known each other since high school, playing together in various incarnations even while temporarily spreading themselves out across the California landscape after graduating. After a few years in the scene, Abildgaard and Duffy eventually formed the band in 2010: « It was really just for fun, » Abildgaard explains. « We were doing it because it felt good. » Davis joined the duo shortly thereafter.

The band’s 2015 debut

was crafted in the SF house they lived in together, with heavy influences from the Bay Area’s burgeoning garage rock scene. « We’d get together in the living room, talk about the songs, break into groups and work on the tracks, » Abildgaard says. « We were figuring out how to write together and discovering what works best with that process. »

The 2017 follow-up

Soaked

saw Hot Flash Heat Wave loosening up their sound, with lush classic rock and pop influences seeping into their heady brew; it was also their first record where the trio had full autonomy in the studio. « It was an empowering exercise for us as producers, because we had access to a candy land of new equipment, » Duffy remembers.

Last year’s

Mood Ring

EP launched the group into another realm entirely—their truest-to-heart release yet, synthesizing a wide range of influences encompassing My Bloody Valentine, Frank Ocean, New Order, and Toro y Moi into something that sounded truly their own. Lead single « Glo Ride » bounces with a slight R&B tilt against a dark, trippy atmosphere, while « Sky So Blue » finds the band spiraling into full-on psychedelia, complete with layers of spell-casting keyboards and a wonderfully zonked-out breakdown.

Une chanson mid-tempo menée par une synth bass au groove et aux refrains fédérateurs, une influence R’nB sous jacente et un titre percutant : en anglais, “A Tease” désigne “un allumeur” ou “une allumeuse”. La chanson parle alors de notre envie de plaire et de rebooster notre égo mais le risque de tomber amoureux-se de la personne qui nous courtise est grand.

Dans un clip électrique réalisé par Bastien Soria, on découvre la “Røcket TV” et le déjanté Ricky Røck, son alter ego, qui nous partage sa recette du Røck N’ Mule. Partout, des références : un ingrédient nommé ‘WAP’ acronyme de Wet A** Peach en clin d’oeil au Wet A** P**** de Cardi B. Un générique hommage au New Jack Swing et à la chaîne MTV. Un style emprunté au Prince de Bel-Air. Un boys band et une chorégraphie signée Danielle Lyard. Mais loin d’une énième parodie des 90’s, Røcket riposte ici à la fast-fashion et surconsommation en collaborant avec la marque éco- responsable Outrage et en portant notamment la fameuse salopette d’Andrea Crews, pionnière de l’upcycling. Sur-branché, il démontre que le recyclage, c’est IN.

Sébastien Rogier alias Røcket (en hommage à sa Guyane natale où on y lance la fusée Ariane) est un auteur-compositeur-producteur autodidacte de 24 ans.
