MALU has a tradition of collaborating with some of the hottest names on the Danish music scene, and her new single ‘Never On Time’ is definitely no exception.

In the producer’s chair we find the 24-year-old pop star Alexander Oscar, who, in addition to having a credible solo career himself, can now also write ‘producer’ on his CV. MALU’s new single ‘Never On Time’ was both written and produced in collaboration with the massively streaming pop star.

The one that got away

“When I was heartbroken as a teenager, my mother always comforted me by saying that it’s all about timing. When I was younger it always sounded abstract to me, but today I completely understand what she meant. We always talk about finding the one and only, but in reality I think it’s just as much about the timing being just right before we dare to commit ourselves to a relationship and really believe in it », she says of the theme of the song.

The other day she told her friends about the new single, which is about a relationship that never came to fruition: « I realized that we all had ‘the one that got away’, so it’s a story that, I think, many can identify with », she says and smiles. A story of a relationship that never was because the timing for some reason was just never quite right.

« It’s a little too soon cause you’ve gotta figure out yourself // it’s a little too late cause now I am with somebody else // I should leave it all behind, cause I can never be on time with you », she sings on the opening lines of the energetic chorus, which is a little more pop than what we’ve heard from her her so far.

More pop than RnB

In April, MALU released the EP ‘Evergreen’, from which several of the singles received a lot of attention on Danish radio. A number of international blogs also praised her laid-back, tasteful vocals and songwriting.

“MALU’s music is a great option for a first dive into R&B. She will be gentle and make you discover the beauty and nuances of a very complex genre”, Good Because Danish wrote about the EP for instance.

Nevertheless, ‘Never On Time’ probably leans closer towards pure pop, although the elegant nuances in MALU’s understated vocals still reveal her origins in and love for the RnB genre.

With haunting choir voices, whipping drum rolls and a melody that instantly resonates with lovers of pop music, MALU kicks off the fall with the release of ‘Never On Time’.

« Strange Man » revisite l’histoire d’amitié forte des membres fondateurs de Jive Me

Après la sortie de « Karma » , Jive Me revient à la rentrée avec son nouveau clip « Strange Man » ce vendredi 16 septembre.

Le groupe originaire de Saintes (Charente-Maritime) élargit son spectre musical pour se diriger vers une musique électronique plus pop, toujours aussi dansante et irrésistiblement addictive.

Dans le clip de « Strange Man », Tara Guéraçague, chanteuse du groupe et le danseur professionnel Andrège Bidiamambu racontent, au fil de la chorégraphie, l’histoire d’amitié entre Tara et Baptiste, le duo fondateur de Jive Me.

Ça commence comme une rencontre due au hasard. Une amitié grandissante, inspirante, qui accompagne vers l’âge adulte. Cette amitié, c’est celle de Tara (auteure et chanteuse) et Baptiste (MAO, compositeur et producteur musical), le duo fondateur du groupe Jive Me. Rien ne prédestinait une extravertie déjantée à se lier d’amitié avec un introverti perfectionniste. Et pourtant… Dans leur nouveau single « STRANGE MAN », le binôme illustre leur histoire : tout les oppose, mais leurs différences, aussi extrêmes soient-elles, se complètent.

Dans le clip qui accompagne “STRANGE MAN”, on assiste à la naissance de cette amitié. Les deux protagonistes interprétés par le danseur Andrège Bidiamambu et Tara Guéraçague, se cherchent, se libèrent mutuellement et finissent par se trouver. Il mène la danse et la lui apprend, elle fait tomber les barrières érigées entre eux pour qu’ils se rejoignent.

Fusionnels et forts de leur parcours dans la sphère electro-swing avec leur premier album éponyme, suivi de plus de 200 concerts, le groupe poursuit son ascension. 2020 arrive, la pandémie bouscule leur projet prometteur. Après deux années enfermées au studio, le groupe Jive Me élargit son style pour se diriger vers une musique électronique plus pop, toujours aussi dansante et irrésistiblement addictive.

Certaines rencontres changent nos vies à tout jamais. Quand le hasard fait bien les choses et que deux opposés s’attirent, c’est parfois pour le meilleur.

Les membres du groupe sont inspirés par les figures de proue de la musique actuelle comme Stromae, Twenty One Pilot, Disclosure, Skrillex, Billie Eilish mais aussi par des artistes plus méconnus comme Monuman, Noisia, Mura Masa, LOUDPVCK et Mazde. Ou encore par les producteurs Ian Kirkpatrick et IllAngelo.

L’auteur-compositeur-interprète Pierre Donoré revient sur scène le 30 septembre 2022 au Café de la Danse à Paris pour nous présenter Bien fait pour toi, son nouvel album sorti fin août.

Au fil des ans, Pierre Donoré s’est forgé une réputation de grand artiste live, que ce soit en solo, en trio ou en groupe complet. La relation qu’entretient Pierre avec son public est très spéciale, comme peut l’attester quiconque a assisté à un de ses concerts. Ses spectacles toujours authentiques sont souvent drôles et vivifiants.

Cet amoureux de la variété française dans ce qu’elle a de plus noble a la sérénité joyeuse de ceux qui ont renoué avec leurs rêves d’enfant. Qualifié de troubadour accroche-coeur, Pierre Donoré unit sur un ton très personnel la nostalgie des amours perdus et les espérances éternelles. Pierre Donoré est de retour avec son nouvel album Bien Fait Pour Toi. Ses mélodies et sa voix singulière ont déjà conquis le public ces dix dernières années. Pierre Donoré est un chanteur qui aime les mots, la vie, l’amour et toute sa palette d’infinies sensations : de l’extase à la désillusion qu’il fait rythmer avec passion et précision. C’est doux et piquant, nostalgique et romantique, pop et électro. L’album Bien Fait pour toi est une tentative pour faire revivre ensemble passé et futur, hors du temps, hors de la réalité et ses contraintes.

On y croise « Chloé » l’être désirée, une femme parfaite comme dans le titre « Le tableau » et « Deux grains de sable », métaphore d’un amour fantasmé. Mais il est aussi question de deuil et de la perte d’un enfant : « Petit ange » est un hymne touchant à la vie qui s’enfuit. On médite, on sourit… Et on s’émeut des mots de Claude Lemesle sur « Tous les jours, je pense à toi », chanson miroir de « Où que tu sois », où le chanteur s’adresse à son père défunt, constituant un vibrant dialogue post-mortem entre un fils et un père disparu, dans un gospel lancinant.

Pierre Donoré nous incite à faire « Tout ce qui nous plaît » comme dans cette chanson écrite en pleine pandémie. Ébranlé par le monde qui l’entoure, ce passionné de concerts a relevé la tête et partage plus que jamais son optimisme résolument contagieux.

Star2 is a new man on his latest single ‘New Me,’featuring performances from Soulja Boy and Luh Kel. Set in a sleek, multi-million-dollar mansion, Star2 hosts a pool party in a backyard full of frolicking, thong-wearing beauties. Vignettes of them spraying whipped cream on each other, splashing Luh Kel and Star2 in a Jacuzzi full of hundred dollar bills, and twerking beside Big Draco in his orange Lambo dance across the screen.

The song opens with a boisterous string section and chronicles Star2’s journey from rags to riches. Star2 remarks, “Making this song with Soulja Boy and Luh Kel was unreal. The set was lit with beautiful women, water-gun fights, whipped cream and hella dope cars.” Eyeing yet another thonged beauty walking past the pool, Star2 notes, “This is every man’s dream.”

Star2 began his life in a refugee camp. Abandoned by his teen-aged mother, fleeing genocide from the Burmese army in Myanmar who attacked their village and burned it to the ground. A lottery in the camp resulted in his passage to San Diego with his grandmother and her four children. Star2’s ‘New Me’ began in San Diego as a young child and has continued into a promising hip hop career as a young adult. ‘New Me’ is the second track on a blockbuster EP that includes features with HoodTrophy Bino from Soulja Boy’s Stacks on Deck Money Gang label, Soulja, Luh Kel, CMG’s Lil Poppa, the iconic Asian rapper $tupid Young, and Sacramento superstar Mozzy.

Star2 is an Asian-American singer, songwriter and rapper who seamlessly blends pop, R&B and hip-hop for an enthralling immersion of sound. Raised in inauspicious circumstances, Star2 takes influence from overcoming his life struggles, creating music that is bold, high-spirited and soulful.

Star2 is a true survivor. Born into a refugee camp in Thailand, his family walked over 500 miles through the jungle to escape Burmese soldiers when they attacked and burned down their village. As Karen’s (Kuh-ren), a minority group that the Myanmar government has tried to destroy, Star2 (and his family) has faced immense adversity and racial opposition for generations. With no father or mother by his side, his grandmother was chosen in a lottery to be able to migrate to the United States and at the age of six years old, took him to San Diego where he began his new life. Unfortunately it wasn’t an easy one, as a young kid living in the inner city, his family struggled financially and he lived with an uncle who was addicted to drugs. Adapting to living in a new world filled with cars, electricity and paved roads, he was overwhelmed and overstimulated. Star2 found solace, however, turning to music as a teen, learning to rap, sing, write and perform. With a diverse set of influences including Justin Bieber, Tyga, Chris Brown, and more, he developed his own musical style complete with winning hooks, rich harmonies, and distinctly progressive R&B soundscapes.

Since 2020, the prolific songwriter has released a series of genre-bending singles with superstar producer Chico Bennett (Prince, Madonna, Lady Gaga, the Killers, Britney Spears) that have entranced audiences worldwide. His collaborations with acclaimed rappers Luh Kel, MarMar Oso, YSN Flow, $tupid Young, and Lil Poppa have gained him further recognition as an artist on the rise. London based artist Joulie Fox brings a truly genreless approach to her musicality. Honing down an impressive repertoire, Fox’s musical endeavours shine brightly, as she brings her unique chronicles to life. Defining her truly unique soundscape, her rich musical heritages take the shape of influences such as St. Vincent, Jack White and Marina & The Diamonds, as Fox prides herself on an ability to stay genuine to her unique artistry.

Her new EP Love is a Blessing offers an addictive realm of upbeat electro-pop. With the EP consisting of five different love stories, her unique chronicles and an unparalleled approach to composition are brought full circle, as she confesses “Love Is A Blessing wasn’t planned to be a concept album and somehow it happened to be all about love.
