Haley Johnsen is a Portland, Oregon-born musician with a knack for genre-bending and a hard-earned career path that is uniquely her own. Raised listening to powerhouse singers such as Brandi Carlile, Grace Potter, Eva Cassidy, and Bonnie Raitt, her greatest inspirations become apparent in her soaring vocals, introspective lyricism, and cross-pollinated style of indie-pop, and bluesy folk rock music. Whether her songs muse on the aches of self-doubt, the joy that can accompany nostalgia, or simply trying to stay afloat in tough times, her bona fide songwriting combined with her performance ability is bound to evoke an emotional response. “I want my music to encourage people to push through their challenges and continue to have hope and belief in themselves and their authenticity,” she says.

Growing up as a competitive gymnast, Haley quickly learned how to be a daredevil and step outside her comfort zone. This influenced her musical journey by prompting the prolific songwriter to take inventive and unexpected risks sonically at an early age. In the span of about three years, Haley wrote around 200 songs in her parents back shed, with the most memorable songs being added to her debut EP,

Through the Blue,

which was released in 2015. She followed up with her second EP,

in 2017, along with a handful of singles and national tours. It was through her critically acclaimed 12-track debut album,

Golden Days,

where she gained much deserved recognition and ignited the interest of Allen Stone who appeared on the album. Later that year, Haley began touring with the power-trio sister-band

and with EDM/Indie pop artist

Big Wild,

who she currently works with as a bassist and back-up vocalist. During her first Europe tour in January of 2019, Haley was further granted the opportunity to record an acoustic album entitled

at the Legendary Abbey Road.

Her 2021 single “Goner” was written in a bathtub in a vintage trailer in the midst of having an existential crisis. The songwriter confides, “it came to be about the romanization of nostalgia; the longing for what once was our youth and also the fear of death. It’s about my own internal struggle trying to stay present and at peace with who I am now, where I am now, and realize that my childlike self is still very much alive in me. It’s a reminder that I don’t need to be afraid or insecure with where I am in my life.” Featuring honey-dipped vocals, breezy guitars, and sweeping 70s inspired folk rock soundscapes, “Goner” is a sun-drenched melancholic daydream.

With her release « Higher » Haley Johnsen explores « not giving up on yourself. It’s that feeling of knowing that no matter what, you’re going to continue growing, continue dreaming, and that in itself is the greatest high. Circumstances of the pandemic lead us to be more reliable to our devices, more obsessed with the news, and more at odds with our family and friends who had differing views. I wrote this song about my own sadness and frustration with the reality of this political landscape. How taking a stand on something I believed in only furthered the divide between the ones I loved. This song is a desperate plea asking society, are we ok with this? Are we capable of coming together and finding common ground, or is it too late? »

Célestin est de retour avec son second album, Deuxième Acte déjà disponible sur toutes les plateformes digitales. Célestin, c’est le projet de chanson pop française de Sébastien Rambaud, également batteur dans le duo Fills Monkey. Avec Deuxième Acte, Célestin raconte ses histoires d’une plume malicieuse, qui virevolte entre ironie, lucidité́, engagement et poésie.

Ce musicien performeur et multi-instrumentiste, sait partager ses idées et ses émotions au travers de son univers drôle et singulier.

Avec Deuxième Acte, Célestin impose son image d’artiste mêlant la poésie, l’introspection, l’ironie et l’engagement.

Après Miss Lune, Célestin nous offre son nouveau single Dans l’ordre. Cette fois, il choisit un décor dépouillé pour mettre en lumière un texte incisif et caustique, où la poésie signe néanmoins la mise en scène. Dans cette critique franche et éclairée de notre société et de notre rapport à ceux qui la dirigent, chaque phrase fait l’effet d’un uppercut. On finit pourtant debout, avec l’espoir de changer les choses.

Sébastien Rambaud (Célestin) est un artiste complet au parcours unique. 50% Célestin, 50% Fills Monkey. Parce qu’il considère que les instruments et les styles musicaux sont autant de langages à sa disposition pour exprimer ses idées et ses émotions, il commence son apprentissage musical en travaillant la guitare, le piano jazz, le chant, les percussions classiques et la batterie (Centre des Musiques de Didier Lockwood).

Il commence sa carrière en tant que batteur pour JMPZ, groupe avec lequel il enregistre 2 albums et fait plus de 500 shows. Puis il co-crée le duo Fills Monkey qui l’amènera aux quatre coins du monde. Un succès aussi inattendu que phénoménal !

D’ailleurs son excellente maitrise de la batterie et son style original l’amènera même a tourner en tant que démonstrateur pour des marques prestigieuses.

C’est riche de ces diverses expériences qu’il se lance dans son projet solo Célestin. L’écriture le démange. Il enregistre un premier album Poussière de luxe en 2019 avec lequel il invente les concerts en appartement : un seul en scène chez les gens. Là encore, gros succès !

Dans la foulée, il entreprend l’écriture de son 2ème opus Deuxième Acte. Un album arrangé par Jérémy Rassat de la Song Factory, plus abouti, mais aussi et surtout beaucoup plus personnel et profond.

Si Célestin continue à écrire sur son thème de prédilection l’Amour, il ouvre aussi le champ à des réflexions plus philosophiques et environnementales.

La vie et la mort sont également des thèmes abordés, sans langue de bois, mais toujours avec poésie et humour. L’oeuf au plat, par exemple est l’histoire du dernier oeuf au plat que Célestin et sa soeur ont cuisiné, cachés dans les toilettes d’une chambre d’hôpital, à leur grand père en fin de vie.

Francesca Louise is an indie/folk singer-songwriter, who’s soulful, Carole King inspired vocals paired with songwriting influences from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Lucy Rose, Flyte and The Staves, makes this artist one to watch.

Her latest single “Odyssey” was written during the pandemic, when the songwriter was triggered by a traumatic event. She confides, “Due to this unexpected and traumatic event, I was forced to confront the effects that the pandemic was having on people’s mental health, and it brought me back to my own struggles with mental health too. I guess the song is a cry out for answers and poses questions that we all ask at some point in our lives, questions that we were desperate to hear the answers to at such a desperate time in our history.”

The process of creating “Odyssey” was an emotional one, with Louise feeling completely overwhelmed, defeated and frustrated. This song is an honest and cathartic track, an ode to someone gone too soon and a reminder of the hardships we have all had to face over the past few years. Described as pensive and open to plenty of interpretation, “Odyssey” is beautifully melancholic, mellow and pure.

BBC Introducing stations across the U.K, independent radio stations alike and radio, magazine and podcasts in U.S.A have shown huge support towards Louise’s career, especially since her latest release. Louise’s songwriting ability is catching the attention of industry known producers and other established songwriters that are active in today’s industry.

FRANSIS are a London based alt/indie band fronted by singer-songwriter Emma Withers. Formerly known as Emma & the Idles, the band have been hailed as ‘Jessie J meets Joan Jett’, making a name for their balls to the wall approach to their sound and sharp songwriting style.

Reminiscent of Wolf Alice and Florence + The Machine, FRANSIS make music that smacks you in the face in a slightly different way, and whilst they float between genres of rock, indie, pop, soul and blues; they show an unrelenting penchant for dramatic, powerful and meaningful music. After busking on the streets of London and making a name for herself as a unique and energetic performer, powerhouse singer Withers decided to form a band to accelerate the sound she so desperately wanted, and boy did she get it. FRANSIS was born.

“Pin Me Down” was spurred by the tragic murder of Sarah Everard. It tackles a subject which is often difficult to talk about but shared by so many women, that of sexual assault, candidly focusing on the mental strain particularly in the aftermath, and the struggle behind closed doors. Described as a therapeutic exorcism, Withers shares, “This song is vulnerable and real, I wanted to focus on the self destruction, the brokenness, the confusion, the anger, and then finally the release which is supported by the music constantly, and as the song intensifies we hit an explosive finale, and an emotional release which was incredibly satisfying to perform in the studio, I did like 8 takes of this to get the raw emotion out of me, this is bonded with the mammoth eruption of epic guitar lines and pure power from the band.”

Despite the serious nature of “Pin Me Down” there is a positive outline, of admittance and then at the end, a collective sense of women standing together. A strong message that no-one should feel alone in their struggle, to let shame keep their burdens as skeletons or be fearful of walking down the street alone at night. Withers encourages, “Get mad, scream, cry and use this song for its intent, let us stand together for change. If Pin Me Down helps one woman come to terms with any trauma and speak out about her experiences, the job is literally done. You’re not alone.”

“Pin Me Down” is the second single to be released off of their upcoming EP, which will be celebrated at their very own launch party at The Water Rats in London on 1st July 2022.

Entitled « Multiply » the haunting and thrilling song is about facing an all encompassing rage in the dead of pain. The track highlights eerie synths, a swell of syncopated bass lines and theatricality sinister string arrangements. POESY admits: “I swear I didn’t mean it to end like this, but you know what you did.” She may not have wanted to fight fire with fire, but sometimes, as she states, “rage is a pretty thing”. The medieval inspired empowering visuals center around the theme of embracing the power of divine feminity.

POESY is the solo project of classically trained singer, songwriter and pianist, Sarah Botelho. She was discovered after she appeared on the first season of hit Canadian music competition show, THE LAUNCH. Her incredible breakout performance propelled POESY to new heights yet unseen, landing her a major label deal with Big Machine Records and an opportunity to collaborate with esteemed composer and producer Stephan Moccio (Celine Dione, Avril Lavigne) on her debut single ‘Soldier of Love’ . This release charted in the Billboard Top 40 and was followed by a four-track long EP entitled Glass Box Confessional.
