Servi par un refrain entêtant, « KillYou » est une protestation contre le règne impitoyable du temps sur nos existences. Une supplique à fleur de peau explorant la fragilité si caractéristique de notre condition. Le producteur et réalisateur français annonce par ce deuxième épisode la sortie de son premier album Broken Blue le 17 juin prochain.

Un voyage musical et cinématographique inédit d’intensité électronique et pop, alternant entre sublime et tragique

Enregistré au MotorBass Studio, lieu emblématique de la french touch, l’album donne à contempler les différentes facettes de la vie humaine, des plus douces aux plus cruelles. Une méditation sur un monde dont le mystère et la beauté nous dépasse.

Né à Paris, Sandór Waïss grandi en banlieue parisienne dans un environnement très musical avec un père guitariste. Dès 12 ans il se met à composer sur des logiciels de MAO, collabore avec des artistes locaux et commence à envoyer ses compositions à des artistes et des directeurs artistiques.

En partageant ses productions, il se fait rapidement repérer par les figures de proue du mouvement hip-hop en France. Peu à peu, Sandór Waïss, sous son alias BBP, devient l’un des principaux producteurs de cette scène qui s’apprête à exploser pour devenir la musique incontestable de la jeunesse et de la génération streaming.

Ayant passé près de 10 ans au service d’autres artistes sur plus de 60 albums, connu pour des succès critiques et/ou commerciaux, Sandór Waïss décide d’ouvrir un nouveau chapitre de sa carrière en affirmant sa propre vision de la musique actuelle.

Fruit d’une rencontre avec Daniel Lieberberg, le jeune président de Sony Music Europe, Sandór Waïss décide de signer son premier projet d’artiste chez Columbia.

Entièrement auto-produit, l’album Broken Blue, qui sortira le 17 juin 2022, a été écrit et enregistré depuis le home studio de l’artiste et mixé au Motorbass Studio, lieu mythique de la culture French Touch fondé par Philippe Zdar. Cet album propose un voyage musical et cinématographique autour de la condition humaine. Une expérience inédite d’intensité électronique et pop, alternant entre sublime et tragique. L’album donne à contempler les différentes facettes de la vie humaine, des plus douces au plus cruelles. Une méditation sur un monde dont la beauté et le mystère nous dépassent.

Visuellement, Sandór Waïss tient à rompre avec l’iconographie contemporaine de l’idole et des codes de la publicité au profit d’une approche cinématographique. En 3 actes, les vidéos sont une prolongation de l’univers et des chansons de l’artiste : les thèmes y sont personnifiés par une trame et des protagonistes. Broken Blue prend vie en Amérique du sud. On y suit la destinée d’une famille de paysans dans les champs de coca. Un questionnement général sur la propension des Hommes à alterner le sublime et le cruel ; dépassés par la grandeur et la beauté du monde qui les entourent.

“Riverside is the result of a 3 years work and a 6 months stay in Riverside, CA (USA). In this album, I’ve tried to reunite all my musical tastes with some disco, pop and electro in order to create a sweet and melodic Californian vibe. The beginning of the album is taking place at the Golden Hour and it ends at ‘Midnight’. All along this album, I had the luck to work with famous artists such as Cimo Frankël, Jimmy Burney… but also with talented upcoming bands (Helsa, Tomode) and even with my little sister Juliette (on ‘Imagine’).”

Au croisement de la pop et de la techno, MLD dévoile le clip de We Are Your Future, et annonce un nouvel EP We Are à paraitre le 24 juin chez Les Airs à Vif.

MLD est le projet solo de Stéphane Mourgues (Hello Bye Bye, Dj Moule) qui navigue entre techno acide et sonorités synthwave, mettant en scène un univers de science-fiction dystopique dans lequel une guerre éclate entre humains et machines.

Avec le clip de We Are Your Future, MLD propose un hommage émouvant en forme d’hymne electro générationnel à l’enfance et à la jeunesse du monde entier. Avec cet EP, MLD dévoile ses principales influences, la scène Acid Techno de la fin des 90’s, et des groupes ayant maitrisé le crossover des sonorités et des genres, tels que Chemical Brothers, Vitalic, Underworld, Lcd Soundsystem ou Death in Vegas. Interrogeant les relations de l’homme face à la domination probablement inéluctable des machines, MLD nous invite à entrer dans son monde futuriste et technoïde.

Après un premier EP « Futur » en Mars 2021 et un album live en Septembre 2021, MLD sort son nouvel EP « We Are » le 24 juin 2022.

En live, MLD joue sans ordinateur, uniquement avec des synthés analogiques synchronisés entre eux. Avec cette manière de procéder, le musicien est sans filet et sans la sécurité d’un logiciel qui enlèverait toute notion de surprise et d’imprévu si importantes dans un concert.

Tout au long des cinq titres qui composent ce nouveau disque, MLD explore les limites de l’évolution technologique d’un monde enfermé dans une prison systémique et livre la bande originale d’une série SF fantasmée dont le sens de la mélodie et la production froide et puissante sont les principaux protagonistes.

A commencer par le premier extrait, We Are Your Future qui ouvre le disque : une affirmation portée par une voix étrange que l’on peut interpréter comme l’inéluctabilité de la domination des machines.

Dans le clip accompagnant le titre Vagabond, William Papillon est soudainement envahi par ses pensées noires. Malgré tout, il réussit à raviver une lueur d’espoir et se libère de ses démons.

Construit en étroite collaboration avec Vince James, Oclair, Tommy Lunaire et son grand frère musical Éric Graveline, Vagabond, le premier EP de William Papillon (FKA Willygram), est un testament de la maturité atteinte par un artiste qui ose se présenter sincèrement, à fleur de peau, pour la première fois.

Exit le bravado de son passé rap, William Papillon offre ici une performance touchante et ensoleillée. Le tout, porté par sa voix posée et des instrumentales R&B/électro mielleuses sur lesquelles guitares et pianos sensibles côtoient des lignes de basses juste assez pesantes pour nous faire hocher de la tête tout au long des 6 pistes.

Si l’artiste avait déjà insinué cette direction avec ses deux premiers simples, La Ronde et Oasis (qui ouvrent tous deux d’ailleurs l’EP), il la confirme et la perfectionne sur Vagabond.

Les thèmes abordés sont la jeunesse, l’insouciance, le suicide, la mort, le deuil, les regrets, les bons coups, les erreurs, la vie normale quoi.

Dans le plan-séquence accompagnant le titre Vagabond, William papillon se retrouve soudainement envahi par ses pensées noires. Malgré tout, il réussit à retrouver une lueur d’espoir et se libère de ses démons.

“Summer Thing” touches on themes of young love, summer blues and faded youth, with the songwriter speaking of her own experiences of love and navigating the changes associated with young adulthood.

Juls is a pop singer/songwriter from Connecticut, who is creating a world radiating with starry eyes, ocean blues and true love. Her love for music began at just eight years old, when her dad built a stage in the basement for Juls and her sister. Instantly recognizing that performing and singing was her calling, Juls shares, “My sister Jacqs was my presenter, and I was the star of the show, prancing onto the stage in my sparkly bodysuits and 6-inch heels (Jacqs was my stylist and makeup artist too, of course). Quite a bit has changed since then, but one thing has remained the same: our shared love for music. Well, two things actually…Jacqs still does my performance makeup lol.”

With a burning desire to pursue her musical career, and with her sister at her side as her manager, best friend and “sisager”, Juls has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. She reveals, “We once believed that the dream worlds we were creating for fun would only ever exist within the confines of our basement. However, we are now turning these dreams into our reality, and we could not be more excited to share them with you all on a bigger platform.”

Her latest single “Summer Thing” touches on themes of young love, summer blues and faded youth, with the songwriter speaking of her own experiences of love and navigating the changes associated with young adulthood.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Taylor Swift and Lana del Rey, “Summer Thing” sparkles with Juls’ soulful, buttery vocals which glide atop warm, shimmering instrumentation. Creating an ethereal and magical soundscape, the music washes your worries away, mirroring the natural ebb and flow of the ocean. The artist explains, “I think that my music is most inspired by the ocean. I feel like life is a lot like swimming in the ocean: scary, exhilarating, dangerous, beautiful, and breathtaking at the same time. I often found myself driving to the water in Connecticut in high school and writing for hours in front of the ocean; the highs and lows of the ocean reflect the highs and lows of young adulthood, and nothing inspires me more creatively. For this reason, I do believe that my sound reflects the feeling of the ocean, and a shared thread of ambiguity and ethereality runs through both.”
