Electro Punk Rockers migratoires, les Frenchies Dead Sexy ont commencé sous le soleil brûlant de Los Angeles en 2000. De leurs compilations remarquées (on notera leur version électrique de

Ça Plane pour moi

) à leurs tournées à travers le monde (en Chine et au Japon notamment) en passant par leurs multiples projets connexes (tournage d’un road movie aux Etats-Unis, sortie d’une bande dessinée, synchro de jeu vidéo…), le trio a su mener sa carrière tambour battant ne perdant jamais rien de sa hargne et de sa magie.

Avant de se remettre au travail pour leur nouvel album, le groupe n’en oublie pas le chemin parcouru avec la sortie d’un Best Of à paraître à la rentrée 2022.

nous entraîne dans un exercice d’antagonisme totalement réussi. Tout d’abord parce que le texte, un poème au ton grave, évoque la confrontation au décès, et la douleur intrinsèque qui en résulte. Parallèlement , la composition du groupe vient directement trancher cette prose avec un ton musical opposé : des notes, des voix et une ambiance tout en légèreté.

J’aimerais que ce film rappelle en quelques séquences la fragilité et la fugacité de la vie. Le film invite également le spectateur à se concentrer sur les plaisirs simples qu’elle nous offre : la camaraderie et la tendresse des proches. Le masque permet de brouiller les époques et les pistes afin que le spectateur soit surpris lorsqu’il comprend que l’homme vit sa dernière journée, ce qui lui fera changer de perspective sur cette journée qui semblait plutôt banale. L’idée est, également, de mélanger les genres, en empruntant

aux codes du clip de rap, et en les apposant à la musique de Cancre, plutôt pop. Le spectateur sera étonné de voir l’homme au masque danser devant une voiture de sport, sur une musique en contrepoint.

Le regard pétillant et l’allure espiègle : le trio Cancre arbore naturellement l’impertinence des mauvais élèves dont il porte la signature. Un choix de nom évident, car c’est avec le charme désinvolte de ceux qui décident de sortir du rang que Clet Beyer et les deux frangins Robin et Mathias Millasseau, se sont lancés dans cette aventure.

Le projet naît en effet d’un besoin de sortir des sentiers battus. Cela fait alors quatre ans que le trio arpente la scène sous l’appellation Wicked dans une formation power trio où les textes anglophones sont portés par un rock garage d’inspiration sixties. Mais l’envie de renouveau se fait sentir. Les trois garçons indociles veulent explorer des chemins inédits. Et l’idée de chanter en français les effleure peu à peu. Finalement, pourquoi pas ?

Le projet est définitivement lancé quelques mois plus tard. La découverte inattendue d’un recueil de poèmes rédigés par Marcel Millasseau, arrière-grand-oncle des deux frères, pendant la Première Guerre mondiale va précipiter la création de Cancre. Véritable trésor historique et littéraire oublié dans le grenier familial, le carnet griffonné dans les tranchée rembobine le temps et propulse les trois musiciens un siècle en arrière.

Entitled « Find My Way », the song was born, musically, as a tribute to the Motown world that has highly influenced Stefano’s musical taste. Inspired by his mother, who raised him to pursue his dreams with the strength to get over the “funky” moments in life, « Find My Way » is an upbeat, danceable song intricately laced with elements of funk, jazz and soul reminiscent of all the legendary Motown hits.

Stefano is a singer, songwriter and piano virtuoso who fuses soul, pop and classical for an enthralling musical journey. The talented songwriter’s music is marked by hope, love and connection in the aim to heal.

Born in Soveria Mannelli, Italy, Stefano took to music at an early age and began classical piano training at age seven. He quickly gained notoriety by performing on popular Italian TV shows, and since then has collaborated with famed songwriters, as well as the famed director Franco Zeffirelli. Honing his craft further, the musician and singer has ultimately composed and scored motion picture soundtracks under the guidance of award-winning filmmaker Jamal Joseph.

2019 marked the beginning of his solo project, when Stefano began collaborating with famed producer Chico Bennett (Madonna, Lady Gaga, The Killers, Prince). His debut single “Prayer” highlights the songwriter’s warm and confessional vocals brimming with such passion, and yet such delicate vibrato tones. Stefano’s otherworldly vocal delivery glides with memorable melodies over intimate piano. The moving lyrics detail the act of loving again after hardship and disconnection. “‘Doubts’ immediately grabs your ear, opening with very close and floaty falsetto vocals. Tapping into electronic roots, ‘Doubts’ starts with a gentle verse and chorus before dipping, then diving into a deeply effected vocal chop and bass-led drop. Constantly moving in different directions, ‘Doubts’ mirrors the chaos of an inner voice that’s constantly trying to lead you astray. The music video for ‘Doubts’ is a smokey, magma-infused art piece showcasing a dancer battling with her inner demons amidst an active volcano and dark, steaming lava fields looming ominously in the background of every shot.”

Entitled « Darryl », the hypercharged alt-rock song is based upon the bestselling book

Darryl,

which received acclaim from

NPR, The Atlantic, The Observer, Buzzfeed

among many others. The book was released under CLASH Brooks and lead singer of the band, Christoph Paul.

Christoph of the band confides, « I love juxtapositions, so having this hyper-masculine rock song about a cuckold who feels most alive when someone sleeps with his wife felt like a fun and interesting rock song to do. Rock n roll is so much about assertive masculine energy, so this song kind of flips that on its head. I wanted to create something fun with some edge similar to the book by Jackie Ess that I was lucky to edit and publish with CLASH Books. Artists get inspired by their day jobs all the time, and editing ‘Darryl’ got me hyped to write a song that celebrates the cult-novel and its legendary titular character. »

Lead singer and bassist Christoph Paul recently teamed up with Eve 6 frontman Max Collins for his book memoir, and the band’s rock publishers are Akashic Books – Fake Names and Books Against Girls, Third Man Books – Jack White, and CLASH Books with The Dionysus Effect. New York based trio The Dionysus Effect was formed in 2020 in a basement with a passion to write songs that conjure the raw energy and timeless spirit of rock n’ roll. Driven to lead a rock revival and bring pop music lovers back to rock, members Christoph Paul (vocals, bass), Sean Quinn Hanley (guitar), and Brett Petersen (drums) combine their diverse musical backgrounds and talents for a unique explosion of sound. Premier extrait de l’EP à venir le 29 avril

Le confinement en plus d’une période personnelle compliquée, poussent Thiaé à

se recentrer et à renouer avec ses désirs les plus profonds. Créer sa propre musique et la partager. Vient alors la naissance de son Ep « Elle était une fois » qui devient son projet le plus abouti selon elle.

Composé de 6 titres, les chansons retracent le cheminement intérieur d’une jeune femme à travers une histoire d’Amour. Entre ses espoirs, ses joies et ses

désillusions. L’Ep s’inspire de différents courants musicaux qui la caractérise (Afro/Tropical/Hip-Hop/Variété/Rnb) mais reste globalement sous une couleur Pop Urbaine.

Thiaé est une artiste française originaire de Madagascar. Née le 10 août 1988 près de la capitale malgache. Elle quitte son pays natal à l’âge de 5 ans, pour partir vivre avec sa mère en Afrique Centrale, au Gabon. Elle y restera jusqu’à ses 15 ans pour finalement atterrir en province française à Toulouse, région qu’elle ne quittera plus depuis.

Passionnée de chant et de danse depuis son plus jeune âge, le désir d’en faire un jour son métier devient évident pour elle. Elle enchaînera les spectacles et les concours de chant durant toute son adolescence. Thiaé fera également quelques apparitions dans des émissions télés malgaches et gabonaises.

Après quelques essais de sortie single, dont notamment le titre « In da flow » écrit par Jack Robinson à l’origine du tube planétaire « Love to love » de Tina Charles, qui ne bénéficiera pas de véritables débouchés à la hauteur de ses espérances.

Elle laissera un peu de côté sa passion pendant une courte période, à l’entrée de l’âge adulte, pour pouvoir subvenir à ses besoins. Mais l’amour pour la musique étant plus fort si non vital, le chemin des studios d’enregistrements et les spotlights de la scène redeviennent son quotidien. Elle exerce le métier de chanteuse depuis plusieurs années maintenant.
