Australian born, London based songwriter/producer Ryan Meeking, creates a unique brand of catchy and cutting-edge indie-pop evoking comparisons to Beck, Jack Garrat and Alt-J. He demonstrates his ability to bring wide-ranging skills and influences to bear on the art of pop music – and it’s connecting. Inspired by the complexity of relationships between people and their environment and intrigued by the emotional rollercoaster of life, Meeking plays with these concepts, concocting a one-of-a-kind space for each of his songs. He shares, “Every song I make has its own environment, its own conversation, its own emotion, its own world for exploring. It captures a moment in time – arriving as lyrics, sound and mood at once. One chance to connect.”
Meeking’s latest single “Better!” narrates two people who’ve always been friends, but often flirted with being more. Finally accepting the truth that they’ve always been better together and letting go of their fear, the track is an uplifting anthem, described as the musical equivalent of a street party. “Better!” also touches on the idea of not wasting time, as well as the underlying longing and frustration Meeking was feeling being separated from friends and family during lockdowns.
He explains, “Because the pandemic made for such great stimuli, I realised every songwriter was probably going to write about it in some way. So I promised myself I wouldn’t directly address it. Instead, I used it as a way to inform my perspective – especially on things I’d always taken for granted.”
“Better!” allowed Meeking’s soul to escape for a moment and romp through the ether unencumbered. The songwriter confides, “I was in a very strong mood at the time, wanting to let out a lot of pent-up energy, like a captive tiger pacing the cage perimeter. Better! opened the gate.”
Adorned in a sonic tapestry of clever production, “Better!” showcases Meeking’s ability to push the boundaries. Featuring feel-good, sunshine melodies, playful instrumentation and smooth, honey-toned vocals, the irresistible track is sure to put a smile on your face and a skip in your step.
Emerging in 2021,
Rolling Stone AU
described Meeking’s debut solo single as, “A blissful slice of indie-pop,” declaring, “Endless Run showcases exactly why Ryan Meeking is one of Australia’s best-kept musical secrets.” A well-kept secret indeed, Meeking’s credits include working alongside artists such as Gossling and Whitaker, the latter seeing his songs in popular TV productions including

La musique a toujours été présente dans la vie d’Andrea, elle l’a accompagnée dans les moments heureux ou difficiles (le meilleur refuge trouvé pour déposer ses émotions en plus de ses poèmes).
Andrea Ponti grandit dans une famille de mélomanes. Ses parents écoutent du Julio Iglesias, Mike Brant ou Boney M. Les enfants : Jean-Jacques Goldman, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Sting, Freddy Mercury et les nombreux sons inspirants des 80’s.
Au début de son adolescence, la jeune fille rejoint un
garage band
entourée de jeunes musiciens de son âge. Ils participent à des scènes de la fête de la musique et des spectacles annuels de jeunes talents.
Andrea est alors repérée et on lui fait une proposition pro mais la toute jeune femme n’est pas prête… Seule dans sa chambre d’ado, elle écoute en boucle – émue et rêveuse – ses Divas inspirantes Mariah Carey, Céline Dion, Whitney Houston…
A l’occasion d’un job de 6 mois au Club Med, Andrea Ponti est programmée pour chanter plusieurs soirs par semaine lors des spectacles. Une

Elle poursuit des études de psychologie dont la fin correspond à la période de son mariage. Elle a alors 29 ans et naîtront bientôt

De nouvelles responsabilités et priorités, des choix aussi, le tourbillon de la vie font qu’elle met sa facette artistique de côté.
À l’été 2018, à l’approche de son anniversaire, elle fait un bilan. «
Qu’ai-je accompli lors de ma première moitié de vie et qu’ai-je laissé de côté ?
».
Une prise de conscience
existentielle fulgurante : le temps était désormais compté. Pendant des semaines et des mois, un sentiment d’inconfort s’installe, une petite voix vient la questionner… «
J’ai ressenti que maintenant on pouvait avoir moins besoin de moi…
».
Elle commence par prendre des cours de chant, ce qu’elle rêvait de faire depuis longtemps, et les progrès réalisés lui donnent confiance.Elle reste en parallèle toujours à l’écoute de chanteuses contemporaines inspirantes comme Sia, Christina Aguilera ou Julia Michaels.
Le récent contexte morbide de pandémie et les confinements successifs continuent largement à alimenter sa réflexion : et si tout s’arrêtait maintenant…?

. Et de ses sessions de travail cet hiver en studio naissent 3 titres.

“I first heard Theresa’s voice when I was writing the instrumental to this track over a year ago. She is amazingly talented and I thought she was the perfect voice for this song. This album has a heavy focus on international collaborations, and I wanted to let her have the creativity to express herself and Zambian culture. Her lyrics are a beautiful representation of exactly that, and I couldn’t be prouder to be releasing this collaboration together.”

Amants réunis, la nuit pour infini
Un instant de grâce, et le temps qui passe…
Nuit s’écoute comme un livre en deux volumes. Véritable lettre d’amour, la première partie est une douce ballade aux accents liturgiques, imprégnée d’une guitare à la sonorité de clavecin. Au loin, la scie musicale vient ponctuer de sa voix cette ambiance fantomatique.
Deux amants réunis dans la nuit, la voûte céleste qui les protège…Des images poétiques évoquent le divin de l’amour et le besoin d’absolu qui l’accompagne.
La deuxième partie fait suite « au temps qui passe », qui inexorablement imprègne toute chose, y compris l’amour. Projetés dans une explosion musicale psychédélique, elle évoque la puissance de l’élan vital. Un tourbillon de sons qui monte lentement jusqu’à un solo de voix tout en envolées, pour finir dans un bouillon presque dissonant. Rage ? Désespoir ?
Réalisé par Selena Fontaine et Stéphane Carraz, le clip de Nuit a été créé comme un film de genre des années 70. La pellicule d’un film oublié qu’on aurait retrouvée au fond d’un tiroir, et dont on aurait découvert les images… D’une patine vieillie, ambiance en super 8 avec signaux de changement de bobine, Nuit fait dialoguer deux tableaux.
Dans le premier, une héroïne romantique, chemise de nuit blanche et couronne de fleurs, communique avec une âme soeur dans le monde des morts. Elle est là, prisonnière d’un labyrinthe dont elle ne peut pas sortir. Elle cherche à rejoindre le monde des vivants, celui de la lumière flamboyante. Les images ne sont pas sans évoquer l’époque de l’innocence de Mina dans le Dracula de Coppola, ou certains tableaux préraphaélites comme Windflowers de Waterhouse…
Le deuxième nous plonge dans un univers baroque et luxuriant. A l’image d’une Alice aux Pays Merveilles, l’héroïne a traversé le miroir. Elle a basculé dans un monde hypnotique aux couleurs chatoyantes. Entourée d’êtres sombres qui sont venus la chercher, elle rayonne comme une Madone. Elle est à présent libre et chante de toute sa voix… jusqu’à ce qu’elle comprenne que ce cycle n’a pas de fin. Elle revient sans cesse au monde de l’obscurité, condamnée à vivre cet aller-retour entre ombre et lumière. Dans cette partie de lumière, les costumes et les couleurs évoquent certains tableaux de Klimt ou de Gustave Moreau.

Avec cet opus, TEMENIK ELECTRIC va plus loin, ou plus proche, selon le point de vue, esquissant une géographie sonore à l’instar de ces quartiers nichés au cœur des mégalopoles, ces lacis de rues aux effluves familiers et étrangers à la fois, aux mélopées échappées de cours intérieures.
L’histoire de
TEMENIK ELECTRIC
épouse le cheminement sinueux d’une caravane. Des dunes algériennes de Beni-Abbès en 2010 jusqu’au premier album OUESH HADA en 2013 ( élu Top Album par la référence anglaise, Songlines), depuis ses fondements méditerranéens aux plus grands festivals européens, le groupe marseillais a enfanté son projet sous d’heureux auspices.
L’opus suivant
INCH’ALLAH BABY
(2015), avec Justin Adams aux manettes dans les mythiques Real World Studios de Peter Gabriel (UK), avait confirmé un goût sûr pour l’arabian-rock, pour les tournées menées tambour battant et les salles de concerts métamorphosées en dance-floors. A la sortie de ce tourbillon, le chanteur-guitariste Mehdi Haddjeri avait ressenti le besoin de tramer une histoire plus personnelle sans doute. Une tentation de l’épure.
Dès lors, dans un rituel délicat sans surenchère ni éclat, TEMENIK ELECTRIC s’est lentement régénéré pour s’offrir un nouvel épiderme sonore. Un cuir où s’exacerbent les sentiments et les chansons introspectives, un power-rock aux parfums d’Orient, aux épices de house music et de transes gnaouies qui enflent et s’électrisent. Myles Lloyd is an R&B singer from Montreal, Canada. His vocal presence and songwriting is filled with a careless emotion that can be defined as vulnerable, honest and when at its best, confusing. Filled with complex stories and real-life scenarios that have come to his attention over the past years, his music acts as a release when his thoughts are finally transformed into lyrics.
His new album,
Forever, Yours,
narrates saying goodbye, but still keeping the memories, emotions and experiences close to your heart. The eight-track release follows on from his 2019 album,
Goodbye
, which took a different approach of alienating the past and finally moving forward. Lloyd explains, “But how realistic is it to leave everything in the past and never think about it again. To never wonder how life would be with a do over. So many scenarios and thoughts can play in your head and it’s normal.”
Stemming from real life events, Lloyd hones in on physically leaving someone but mentally remaining attached in every way.
Forever, Yours
encompasses all these feelings and thoughts put into lyrics and melodies, touching on everything from love, sexual desires and the risqué parts of relationships.
The album title is a nod to Michael Jackson’s 1975 album,
Forever, Michael
, which Lloyd would listen to constantly as a child and still inspires his music to this day. Showcasing a more experimental side to the artist, the album is a reflection of how the last couple years has left people feeling out of their comfort zone, with the songwriter sharing, “I want to give everyone a different experience to my music than they are used to.”

Blue Mar (F.K.A Marcelo Deiss) is a Brazilian born, LA based artist whose music dances between gritty guitar and nostalgic/vintage sounds. Wading through modern-day life hurdles and feeling tense and unable to unwind, Blue Mar’s music is a reflection of how quickly we lose track of what is real and what isn’t. and pays tribute to Rohith Vemula’s life and activism in India. With the fallout of the pandemic having a profound impact on his life, Blue Mar found himself searching for inspiration in new places, when he stumbled across a selection of 26 essays in a book called “The Good Immigrant”.
Despite being named a “Eulogy” the track is a wash of thoughtful soundscapes, uplifted by a calming trill of ukulele, and a hum of soft yet husky vocals. Written in his Sao Paulo apartment in just two days, the track is one of the quickest songs he has ever written, however it radiates the compassion and admiration you’d show a close friend.
Having lived in both London and Sao Paulo, the musician is able to explore new sounds as well as new topics. Through the rawness of his music and the sheer gravity of his lyrics,
the indie artist is creating music that focuses on human connection and elicits strong emotions.
