No two ways about it: Italian-born Alessandra Boldrini’s calling has always involved music. Starry-eyed and ready to turn dreams into reality, she packed her bags and headed to the UK in 2016 to pursue a degree at BIMM Institute. Since then, she’s gone on to amass over half a million streams across her tracks and positioned herself as one of Pop’s most exciting rising stars.

Inspired by the likes of Dua Lipa, Nono, Mabel, and Clean Bandit, Boldrini’s EDM-meets-Pop sound pivots around her enchanting yet confident vocal palette that oozes with charisma. Showcasing a vocal maturity way beyond her years, Boldrini’s lyricism explores the human mind, often subconsciously writing songs from the perspective of others. Hailing from the small Italian village of Fabriano, Boldrini’s lofty musical ambitions left her feeling like a big fish in a small pond. She spent time singing in her local choir during childhood, and while her musically inclined family ignited her passion, Boldrini decided to move to London and study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in pursuit of her musical dreams.

Detailing the hurt of holding yourself accountable for the fault of others, and the fallout and frustration that’s triggered by gaslighting, Boldrini admits, “I was in a relationship a few years back, and towards the end, I found myself giving and giving and giving and for what? Nothing, as the other person couldn’t even bother to try and make things better.”

For Boldrini, music is more than simply structured noise; it’s also therapy, a vessel that supplies her with a consistent stream of confidence and motivation to fuel her determination to succeed, which is clearly evident in this new track. The singer’s pop influences shine through in the catchy up-beat melody, bursting with a feel-good and intoxicating energy, creating a meaningful contrast to the somewhat dustier lyrics. Emitting confidence and illustrating the taking back of control in a relationship, she sings, “You tell me baby don’t you over analyse / But I know what you did, come show your face / It’s time for you to take the blame for all the lies you said”.

“A Dream I’ll Forget” explores the unsettling realization that a relationship might not have been everything she thought. The track begins in a lull of lethargic whispers, before brightening into a constellation of starry synths and crackles of fireworks.

Virginia-based singer/songwriter/producer Ryan Wright creates songs that don’t make sense on paper–an ethereal, haunted voice singing angsty lyrics over confectionary, synth-driven hooks–and yet the results are at once timeless and timely. Wright’s arresting voice embodies an ancient, unnamable heartache. Her lyrics–at times profane, often tongue-in-cheek, occasionally devastating–reveal a searing wit and a sensitive heart. Wright’s songs speak to the kind of heartache that can only be experienced during one’s teenage years and yet the truth of her lyrics is universal and undeniable.

In her new single “A Dream I’ll Forget” Wright finds herself adrift in a delirium of heartbreak as she untangles the unsettling realization that a relationship might not have been everything she thought. Constructed around the concept of waking from a dream with a hazy recollection, the track begins in a lull of lethargic whispers, before brightening into a constellation of starry synths and crackles of fireworks. In a vulnerable moment of introspection, Wright lets the tormenting reality wash over her as she considers that the love she felt was just a product of her imagination, singing, “Sometimes when I sleep, You’re slow dancing with me, but it’s only a dream I’ll forget.” At once confessional and confrontational, her other-wordly vocals hint at a subtle desperation as the reality she once believed to be a dream devolves into a nightmare.

Wright was born in the suburbs of Northern Virginia in 2002. She began writing songs and performing live alongside her singer/songwriter dad at the age of 11. By the time she was a teenager, she was working in the studio and on stage alongside some of her biggest musical influences. In 2019, she began co-producing her current EP with her dad Todd Wright and collaborator Ethan Mentzer (The Click 5), working to hone a sound that wears its influences on its sleeve while still maintaining an originality and authenticity that defines Wright as an artist. Her influences range from the classic (The Cars, Roy Orbison, The Smiths) to the current (The Killers, The 1975, Lana Del Ray) to the local musicians she grew up playing with and learning from. Her indie dream-pop has been compared to Lorde, Lennon Stella and The Japanese House.

Tout juste rentré de sa tournée en Guinée et en Côte d’Ivoire, notamment pour la première partie du concert de Dadju à Abidjan, Limo est de retour sur Paris et nous présente un morceau inédit: « Doucement ».

Une ballade entraînante aux sonorités africaines et pop qui nous plonge dès les premières notes dans son univers romantique. Dans le clip réalisé par Dez Billy, on retrouve le jeune chanteur hanté par des souvenirs avec sa baby qu’il souhaite retrouver. Il chante de sa voix si singulière tout l’amour qu’il lui porte sur une instrumentale ensoleillée, à la fois douce et rythmée, signée DSK OnTheBeat & Monkey Beats.

Une belle surprise pour son public qui saura enflammer les cœurs et inspirer de bonnes résolutions pour cette nouvelle année 2022.

LIMO, de son vrai nom Lassimo Mansare, est un jeune chanteur, auteur-compositeur et interprète français qui apporte une vague de fraicheur dans l’univers musical afro- urbain. Sincère et authentique, à travers sa musique il nous fait part de ses expériences de vie, de son quotidien, de ses états d’âme et des femmes qui le font vibrer.

Dès son plus jeune âge, il traine avec le groupe de rap guinéen DEGG J FORCE 3 et assiste aux répétitions en studio pendant ses séjours en Afrique. Il rejoint la chorale de son école et se découvre alors une véritable passion pour la musique et le chant. Naturellement, Limo décide de se consacrer à cette forme d’expression artistique. En 2014, il commence à écrire ses premiers textes, influencé par des artistes RnB et Pop comme Michael Jackson, Akon ou encore T-Pain, et puisant son inspiration dans ses origines africaines, l’amour et les femmes.

Fin 2019, repéré grâce à ses covers postés sur Instagram, il rejoint Jaiye Music Group et s’élance avec « COVERGRAM », une compilation de ses reprises. À travers ce premier projet, l’artiste présente son univers romantique dans un style mêlant à la fois des sonorités Afro, RnB ou encore Pop.

Début 2020, il est déjà de retour avec son single « BEFORE YOU WAKE UP » qui connait rapidement un grand succès. Le titre est partagé près de 20 000 fois en stories sur Instagram et le clip dépasse les 1,2 million de vues sur Youtube. LIMO a conquis le coeur du continent africain !

Désormais lancé sur la scène musicale afro-urbaine, LIMO dévoile en janvier 2021 son premier EP intitulé « GENESIS », qui marque le commencement de son ascension. L’occasion pour lui de signer plusieurs collaborations de prestige. C’est notamment aux côtés de Scridge qu’il chante « Meuf Carrée », ou encore avec Wilson sur le titre « On y Go », et Sensey sur « Rien à Prouver ».

Avec ce tout nouveau projet, LIMO se met à nu et ouvre davantage son intimité au public avec des mots emplis de sincérité et de sensualité. Il laisse sa pudeur de côté et raconte en musique son histoire d’amour sous toutes ses facettes. Tout au long de ses 14 titres, l’interprète évoque sa relation avec sa Khaleesi comme il aime l’appeler, de ses premiers fantasmes aux embrouilles, jusqu’au mariage.

Encore une fois, LIMO, amoureux de l’amour, rend hommage à ses origines, à sa culture musicale et aux femmes, grâce à un subtil mélange de Pop, RnB, de sonorités africaines et toujours plus de love.

Concert Tchaïkovski / Chostakovitch à la Maison de la Radio le 31/01

L’Orchestre et Choeur des Universités de Paris, dirigé depuis 2008 par Carlos Dourthé donne rendez-vous le 31 janvier à l’Auditorium de Radio France pour une soirée exceptionnelle, présentée par le musicologue et écrivain Gilles Cantagrel.

Pour le concert du 31 janvier 2022, l’ensemble a choisi un programme très passionnant : la 2e Symphonie de Tchaïkovski “Petite Russienne”, le 2e Concerto pour piano de Chostakovitch, interprété par le jeune pianiste Olof Hansen et les œuvres du compositeur français Patrice Muzard. Ce dernier se passionne très jeune pour la musique classique. Mais plus que tout, il est sensible aux musiques de films et admire Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand ou encore John Barry.

Nul doute que cette belle programmation promet une soirée extraordinaire. Le tout servi par le raffinement et l’exigence du Chef d’Orchestre Carlos Dourthé ainsi que sa complicité avec les musiciens et les invités prestigieux.

Depuis 2008, l’Orchestre et le Chœur des Universités de Paris sous la direction de Carlos Dourthé, se produisent dans des salles mythiques comme la Philharmonie de Paris, le Théâtre des Champs-Elysées ou encore l’Auditorium de la Maison de la Radio. Ils accueillent régulièrement des solistes prestigieux.

Le 31 janvier 2022 l’Orchestre et le Chœur des Universités de Paris sera en concert à l’Auditorium de Radio France pour un programme consacré à Tchaïkovski, Chostakovitch et au compositeur français Patrice Muzard.

L’Orchestre et Choeur des Universités de Paris (O.C.U.P.) a pour vocation de favoriser la pratique musicale instrumentale et vocale des étudiants de l’enseignement supérieur et de leur permettre de se produire lors de concerts dans les universités parisiennes et européennes, et dans des lieux prestigieux tels la cathédrale Saint-Louis des Invalides, la Philharmonie de Berlin, le Théâtre des Champs-Elysées et à l’Auditorium de Radio France.

Carlos Dourthé officie depuis plusieurs années avec l’Orchestre et Chœurs des Universités de Paris, et développe avec cet ensemble inter-universitaire, composé de nouvelles générations de musiciens et mélomanes éclairés, une activité variée et un répertoire riche et ambitieux.
