It was a time when my mind, body and spirit had suffered, long and slow and I was looking for a place of peace where I could rest. Standing in the midst of the wreckage of that year, all I could see at the time was the damage, and so I wrote this song to remind myself of what still was; of the love that remained. It looked different now, but there was still so much there. » With « I’m Good » Miranda Joan reminds us to take pleasure in the small things in life.

Miranda Joan is a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Montréal, Miranda spent her formative years growing up on the north shore of Vancouver, filling diaries with emotions and experiences; creating a safe place to land for both her heart and her imagination that would go on to form the basis of her song writing. Her influences range from Bill Withers, Stevie Wonder, and Carole King to Anderson Paak., Little Dragon and Robyn, drawing on both the classic and the contemporary. Miranda’s personal experiences and the artistic and spiritual energies of the places she has called home flow through intricate song writing and playful production to form a unique blend of Soul-Pop.

With the fluidity of growing up along the Pacific Ocean in Vancouver and the joy-de-vivre and creativity that Montréal exudes radiating through her music, Miranda has always sustained strong roots in Canada. A shy child, her first experiences of music and performing came from high school drama and musical theatre. Leaning into Soul, R&B and Jazz sounds, she found a natural home for her voice. Miranda began to shape her sound using her lifetime of journals and influence from the singer-songwriters of all genres that had fed into her writing process throughout her life. She moved to New York to study Jazz and opened her inquisitive sound and creative style to a host of artists and producers in her musical surroundings, as well as the grittiness and intensity of the city.

Establishing herself in the Brooklyn Soul/Jazz community, Miranda is the co-host and co-founder of Brooklyn’s Femme Jam (NYC’s first all-female led jam session); a community initiative to create a womxn-led space with an emphasis on female musicians that fosters inclusivity. Arts mentorship has been an important through-line in Joan’s career and for the past eight years she has been a music mentor with the non-profit SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young where she works with youth 8-18 who stutter.

She has performed on national tours, played sold-out and headline shows at well-known New York venues, provided backing vocals for the likes of Shawn Mendes, Lorde, and Andy Grammar, and joined Sly5thAve at Montréal Jazz Festival with the Orchestre National de Jazz de Montréal, in a tribute to Dr. Dre. In 2021 she was selected as one of First Up with RBCxMusic Emerging Artists as she released her debut album ‘Windborne’, the follow up to her 2019 EP “Still”. Both releases received consistent radio airplay in Vancouver and Los Angeles and led to a sync placement on Canadian TV show

Entitled « Versace Eros », the alt pop slammer is a cheeky collaboration and anthem to one of the world’s most alluring fragrances. « The song is about a secret undercover relationship between Siné and the character from this Versace Eros ad. I know… super random, but we were running through the internet and just thought the ad was so over the top! It’s very silly. The song was written during a sunny day in Brooklyn. We all were in such a great mood, and wanted to bring that into the music, » proclaims Robert PM of French Horn Rebellion. With silky synths, funk fueled beats, and magnetic melodies, « Versace Eros » is a seductive and fun-loving single all about love on the downlow. The release also features a b-side showcasing Joe Tomcheck of Paper Holland, an artist from the FHR brothers’ hometown, Milwaukee, WI.

The sound of Siné takes off in her incredibly soulful voice. The music is playful and full of funky chord changes, spacy horn sections and break beats. Siné is signed to Universal Music Denmark and has since her first single ‘Older’ in 2021 been played repeatedly on all the major Danish radio stations. Furthermore, two of Siné’s singles have been placed in the major international America TV-show « Dollface ». 2022 has also been a particularly productive year for Siné, who, as the first Danish artist ever, was chosen to sing the Danish version of Disney’s official Christmas campaign. In addition, she released the ballad « For The Last Time Again », which was quickly picked up by the renowned Danish producer ELOQ, who made a remix of the song. Since then it has been in heavy rotation on Danish radio and is currently in the top 60 on the Danish airplay chart.

Avec Rester Alerte, un texte au sonorités nettement moins rock que le premier single, Lox interpelle son public à travers un texte engagé sur un sujet d’actualité important : le harcèlement de rue. Elle y exprime en effet le sentiment d’insécurité que l’on peut ressentir dans les lieux publics lorsqu’on est une femme ou perçu.e comme tel.le.

C’est d’ailleurs pour exprimer au mieux ce ressenti angoissant que Lox a décidé de travailler avec des personnes concernées par le sujet. Le clip de “Rester Alerte” est donc un projet écrit, réalisé, et monté par une équipe 100% féminine dans le but de présenter un morceau accompagné d’un clip cohérent avec le message de ce dernier.

L’artiste électro pop Chaild se confie dans son nouvel EP « URGENT CARE »

CHAiLD est un jeune artiste electro-pop en plein essor, né au Luxembourg et actuellement basé à Bruxelles. Sa voix unique, apaisante mais intense, vous saisit et vous emmène dans son univers mélancolique. Inspiré par des artistes tels que Troye Sivan, Sam Smith, Julia Michaels ou Mø, l’artiste crée son propre style de pop agréable, dans lequel il intègre ses propres racines italiennes. CHAiLD est une voix générationnelle pour les jeunes LGBTQ+ en quête d’expression de soi.

À seulement 25 ans, l’artiste a déjà ajouté de nombreuses réalisations remarquables à son palmarès depuis le début de sa carrière au Luxembourg en 2019, telles que ses premières parties pour ses idoles comme Dean Lewis et Mahmood ou ses différentes performances dans de nombreux festivals tels que Sonic Vision Festival (LUX) ou Dockville (DE).

Le jeune artiste vient de faire son retour avec l’EP « Urgent Care », écrit à une période où il se sentait impuissant et où il utilisait l’écriture comme moyen de faire face à l’anxiété. L’EP est une exploration puissante et vulnérable du parcours de l’artiste vers l’acceptation de soi et la guérison. Dans l’ensemble, « Urgent Care » est un EP brut et émotionnel qui invite les auditeurs à rejoindre CHAiLD dans son voyage vers la découverte de soi et la guérison. À travers sa musique, le chanteur nous rappelle qu’il est normal de ne pas toujours se sentir bien et que demander de l’aide est un acte courageux et nécessaire.

« Urgent Care » est ma façon de m’ouvrir à moi-même et aux autres. Tout au long de ma vie, j’ai pensé que la vulnérabilité était un défaut et que montrer ma faiblesse invitait les gens à me blesser. Cependant, maintenant, je sais que j’ai le droit de dire aux gens que je ne vais pas bien. Il est acceptable de s’effondrer et d’accepter que le monde semble parfois juste un peu trop difficile à gérer. Alors, à partir de maintenant, j’essaierai de guérir de la douleur que je porte en moi. Et surtout, au lieu de le faire seul, je demanderai de l’aide. Oui, j’ai besoin de soins urgents.
