Guyville is a Los Angeles based duo composed of its founding members, Kat Hamilton and Emily Hulslander. The pair craft songs that combine elements of 90s rock, pop and Americana. As their name suggests, the legacy of Liz Phair brought these two powerful women together in songwriting bliss. The duo strikes the perfect chord with Hulslander’s intelligent pop approach and Hamilton’s confessional lyricism.

was formed during your usual Los Angeles writing session in the Valley. What was unusual was the easy flow and chemistry between the two prolific writers. Within a few hours, the duo had written their first song “Should’ve Never Dated”. Emily Hulslander had already made a strong name for herself in LA songwriting circles, but was struggling to find another writer who she could relax into the process with. Kat Hamilton was newer to LA, but felt unfulfilled as a writer. On that pivotal day, Emily and Kat found common ground in their failed relationships, artistic journeys and the women of the 90s.

single, “Nothing”. The end of summer jam combines elements of indie rock and 90s girl anthems with a sprinkle of Shania Twain. “Nothing” celebrates the wonderful post- breakup feeling of absolutely nothing for your ex. In the music video, Hamilton and Hulslander frolic in rose gardens and dance along sandy beaches. The result is a bubbly, tongue in cheek ode to getting over it and moving on.

With their track « Should Have Never Dated » Guyville crafts a highly infectious 90’s inspired indie rock song all about the regret of entering into certain romantic relationships especially those with other musical partners and collaborators. Mixing work with pleasure does not always end well and Guyville explores this in the magnetic « Should Have Never Dated ».

Born Oliver Milmine in Manchester, England, Newport moved to the United States at a young age, eventually settling in Kansas. There, he picked up the guitar and taught himself how to produce music on his computer. Consolidating his style and sound into something rather extraordinary, Newport has created his own funky, psychedelic style of pop with his falsetto vocals riding atop bulging basslines, grooving guitar, melodious keyboards and electronic grooves. Inspired by a mix of early-2000s bands like MGMT, The Killers, and Phoenix, he’s received musical placements on shows like Search Party, Ballers, Expecting Amy, an Apple iPad commercial and What/If.

His next single “Tongue & Cheek” showcases Newport’s symphonic vocal energy and eclectic indie-pop perfection. He explains, “Tongue & Cheek was of course inspired by the phrase “tongue in cheek”, but having said it wrong my whole life, I opted to title it Tongue & Cheek. The song is a self ode to not taking life too seriously and understanding how life goes, always having to play it by ear and stay on your toes. It’s a nod to the fiery beginnings of a relationship and, lyrically, is a larger than life glorification of meeting someone for the first time…in the hot desert of Amarillo at a fashion show. It’s my way of saying life is made up of so many miracles.”

Sarahba, de son vrai nom Sarah Raba, quitte Paris tout juste après son bac à 18 ans, pour Los Angeles où elle s’installe pour travailler dans la musique.

Aux USA, elle s’entoure d’importants compositeurs et auteurs tels que Taio Cruz, Pip Kembo, Jenson Vaughan, Mike Wise ou encore la légende Scott Storch, avec lesquels elle collabore tout en écrivant pour ses propres chansons.

A Los Angeles, elle écrit pour de nombreux artistes de renoms : Tyga, R3hab, DJ Snake, Backstreet Boys, BlackPink … et participe à la création de la version française de « IDGAF » de Dua Lipa feat. Maître Gims.

En 2019, Sarahba poursuit son aventure en sortant un nouveau single intitulé « Dommage », diffusé sur de nombreuses radios dont FUN RADIO. Ce succès se poursuit en 2020 avec « Risque ta life », co-écrit par le canadien Jenson Vaughan (Armin Van Buuren, Madonna, Kelly Rowland) lui aussi diffusé sur FUN RADIO.

Fatbabs est de retour avec son tout nouvel EP Daily Jam – Aimer. Mais grande nouveauté sur cet EP, le musicien prend le micro pour la toute première fois et chante le titre Aimer. Comme à son habitude, Fatbabs offre un EP oscillant entre musiques instrumentales et featurings bien choisis.

Après la sortie des clips On a Daily et Aimer, Fatbabs dévoile un extrait très attendu, le titre Where Do We Go avec en invité Naâman dont il est le beatmaker attitré.

Devenu avec Naâman LE duo gagnant du Reggae Français, Fatbabs se consacre alors à son premier projet solo. Daily Jam, un trip musical riche et personnel que le beatmaker livre avec passion et générosité. On y retrouve tous les styles que Fatbabs affectionne, du Hip-Hop bien sûr, en passant par le Reggae, la Soul, la Funk ou encore le Jazz.

Au fil des années et des rencontres, Fatbabs a multiplié les collaborations et produit des instrumentales pour entre autres Vanzo (Jamaïque), MC Kaur (Inde), Volodia (France), ou encore Balik (France).

Si pour Fatbabs la musique est une histoire de passion, alors c’est une passion qui se partage et son 2ème projet solo Holidays nous le prouve bien. Solo n’est d’ailleurs pas le mot, avec plus de 15 chanteurs invités sur cet EP 5 titres. Entre Hip-Hop et Reggae Fatbabs est allé chercher les voix qui le font rêver avec Johaz du groupe californien Dag Savage, Demi Portion, Chill Bump et bien sûr Naâman.

En 2019, Fatbabs sort le grand jeu et dévoile un tout premier album solo Music is for kids, un véritable album de producteur avec plus de 20 chanteurs invités allant de la légende Jamaïcaine Sizzla, aux nouvelles étoiles montantes de la scène française telles que Demi Portion, Jahneration, Naë ou encore Marcus Gad.

Aujourd’hui, Fatbabs revient aux bases et dévoile Daily Jam – Aimer. Un nouvel EP qui se présente comme la suite de son trip musical toujours aussi riche et aussi personnel, avec en point d’orgue, le titre Aimer, interprété pour la première fois par Fatbabs en personne.

Caesar Spencer annonce la sortie de son nouvel album de pop baroque Get Out Into Yourself, prévu pour cet automne. Avec ce disque, le musicien anglo-suédois livre une véritable déclaration d’amour à la France et s’entoure d’invités de choix : Jacqueline Taïeb, Jo Wedin, Jean Felzine, Mareva Galanter, mais aussi Gilles Tandy du groupe punk culte, les Olivensteins.

Désormais installé en France, Caesar Spencer a tout simplement décidé d’enregistrer l’album de pop de ses rêves.  »

Je voulais démontrer qu’en France, il y a une sophistication dans la créativité musicale qui n’existe nulle part ailleurs. Je prends mon univers anglo-saxon et je le déplace dans un contexte français avec tous les personnages qui vont avec. C’est à la fois étrange, et fascinant.

Pour le premier extrait, Caesar Spencer invite une véritable légende des années 60 Jacqueline Taïeb, pour le titre Waiting for Sorrow qui est un hommage au dramaturge franco-anglophone Samuel Beckett (« Waiting for Godot »).

Caesar Spencer annonce la sortie de son nouvel album Get Out Into Yourself le 4 novembre 2022 sur le label New Radio Records.

Dans la lignée des auteurs-compositeurs classiques, comme Scott Walker, Lee Hazlewood, Morrissey ou Pete Doherty, Caesar Spencer nous offre un disque célébrant la luxuriance de la pop avec des arrangements baroques et une qualité d’écriture digne des meilleurs songwriters. Aujourd’hui installé en France, Caesar est un musicien anglo-suédois né au Pérou. Amoureux de la France et de sa culture, Caesar Spencer parvient à mélanger ses influences rock anglo-saxonnes (The Kinks, David Bowie, The Smiths…), et une certaine sophistication française.

L’album Get Out Into Yourself transcende les genres et les frontières, passant de la pop pastorale britannique (Isn’t That What Jimi Said), au surf-rock énergique (Hail Caesar), à un hommage inspiré au cinéma français (When I Whisper In Your Ear), en passant par des ballades de crooner cosmique évoquant David Bowie (Requiem).

Mais surtout, Get Out Into Yourself est avant tout un hommage affectueux à la France, une nation qui a ravivé à elle seule l’étincelle créative de Caesar. «

Ce disque est tout simplement une lettre d’amour à la France. Je voulais donner quelque chose en retour à un pays qui m’a tant offert. Et je voulais mettre en lumière cet art musical français incroyablement sophistiqué. Les Français ont une façon de faire les choses qui me paraît inégalée et bizarrement pas si connue à l’étranger.

Une fois établi à Paris, Caesar a commencé à enregistrer au Studio La Fugitive avec le producteur Gaétan Boudy. Aux côtés de la chanteuse Jacqueline Taïeb (sur Waiting for Sorrow), on retrouve également Jean Felzine de Mustang accompagné de sa partenaire la chanteuse Jo Wedin sur plusieurs titres et notamment Isn’t That What Jimi Said

.

L’icône du punk français Gilles Tandy (Les Olivensteins) prête également ses talents à l’album. La chanteuse Mareva Galanter est venue interpréter le morceau de pop baroque When I Whisper In Your Ear. L’enregistrement de l’album a été peaufiné avec les musiciens Fred Lafage à la guitare, à la basse et aux claviers et Frantxoa Erreçarret à la batterie.

Achevé en 2022, le disque propose 11 chansons d’une pop élégante et sophistiquée s’affranchissant des frontières et parvenant à réconcilier la pop britannique et la pop française, Caesar Spencer nous livre un album riche en émotions. Ave Caesar !

are getting ready to release the video for their second single, ‘Believe It’, going live later today (30th June) at 6pm British time.

The new single is a reflection when a woman gets all googled-eyed when she finally found

the one,

over feathery layers of 90s – inspired soulful jazz, reminiscent of the likes of acid jazz heavyweights, D-influence and incognito.

A serendipitous musical relationship that was formed out of mutual respect for Reggae, Hip-Hop and rare groove, 5 Weeks consists of singer Alexandria and Darren Outbreak who cites array of artists such as Barrington Levy, Anita Baker, Soul 2 Soul, Mos Def, Anderson Paak, Gwen Guthrie, DJ Premier as their musical influences.

Being brought up in a musical family, many influences came from her mum being in a reggae sound system in the seventies and eighties, Alexandria has been singing and songwriting from a young age who was later picked by Sony for a publishing deal.

Darren began DJing at a very early age, getting his first club residency at 15. Starting out in electronic music, he broadened his horizons over the years with many genres in the musical landscape.

Since releasing their debut, ‘Can’t Have It’, which was well-received across the UK airwaves, the pair have collaborated with Choice FM’s legendary DJ Mix Master with the remix of their single, ‘Woman2Woman’.

Slated for release on 30th June, ‘Believe, It will form part of 5 Weeks’ debut EP, ‘5 Weeks 4EHVA’ coming out in August. The pair are gearing up for an album launch party in their hometown Brighton on 5th September.

Gal Musette is the nom de plum of Grace Freeman, a musical prodigy who began writing piano based lyrical compositions and performing at open mics in her home city of San Clemente, CA at the age of 10. Her graceful approach to melody-driven indie-folk and French chansons has captured audiences all over Southern California. At age 14, inspired by The Magnetic Fields’ triple album 69 Love Songs, Gal recorded her own collection titled 70 Love Songs, which caught the attention of the band, and won her an opening slot on a few of their Midwestern U.S. tour dates. In more recent years, Gal has opened for several renowned artists such as Macy Gray, Suzanne Vega, Todd Snyder, and Donavon Frankenreiter. While her artist name is taken from bal-musette, the accordion-based, waltz-style French instrumental music, Gal’s primary inspiration is drawn from songwriters including Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, Bjork, Cocteau Twins, Burt Bacharach, Irving Berlin and The Cure.

In October 2021, Gal released her debut album,

Backwards Lullaby

, featuring a vocal duet with one of her biggest musical inspirations, Rufus Wainwright. The album explores the pangs of hopeless romances and unrequited love, what it’s like to move beyond idealized love into the acceptance of what is real and constant, as well as the cyclical nature of life and love in relationships.

Musette’s upcoming EP,

Backwards Lullaby [Reimagined],

comprises

three tunes from her original LP, which she collaborated on with Via Mardot, a prolific and multi-talented musician from Detroit, Michigan. Mardot performed every aspect of instrumentation on this EP including the theremin, violin, cello, double bass, acoustic guitar, and much more. The EP was brainstormed and produced by the talented Jon O’Brien and is out now.
