As a mental health advocate, the powerful single was written about the polarizing effects of anxiety and Glam’s first hand experience with panic attacks. Over diluted beats, lush reverberations, and pristine vocals, Glam courageously recounts her innermost thoughts in hopes of easing the pain in others.

« Side Effects » uses melodic echoes to dive beneath the surface of our subconscious and step inside our heads. Yarin Glam admits, « Going through any mental health struggles can feel very isolating. I wanted to raise awareness to the subject, and I wanted anyone who goes through what I go through to feel not alone. » It’s a track that brings people together through emotional vulnerability and intimate storytelling.

Born and raised in Israel, up and coming singer/songwriter Yarin Glam moved to LA at the age of 14. Yarin’s middle eastern background shines through her music as she brings her authentic self into each project she pursues. Her songwriting is a perfect blend of Pop and R&B and is heavily influenced by a wide range of artists such as Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, and Billie Eilish.

In 2020, Yarin dropped « Free » which celebrates diversity and Yarin’s personal journey toward self-acceptance. In early 2021, Yarin’s electric EP

Realness

was released, followed by an acoustic version of the EP later that summer. Upbeat and dreamy with notes of Middle-Eastern pop, her debut EP drew in a captivated audience. With more than 88K followers on instagram, fans are patiently waiting for her next release.

Yarin writes about topics such as female empowerment and self love. She notes… “I’ve shared my journey of self acceptance. I opened up about my struggles with mental health issues and an eating disorder. I’ve been so real and honest with my lyrics hoping that they’ll help anyone out there who’s been going through what I have, or something similar. ‘Realness’ has very empowering songs about embracing yourself regardless of what society portrays as “ideal.”

Hugo Jardin dévoile son premier clip, Nuit Vacillante, et l’on tombe instantanément sous le charme de cet artiste aux multiples talents, porté par une intensité poétique ravageuse et beaucoup de charisme.

Nuit Vacillante est le premier single d’Hugo Jardin. Co-écrit avec Nicolas Gary (ex Nouvelle Frontière) et réalisé par Robin Leduc (réal de Silly Boy Blue, Marie-Flore, etc.), Nuit Vacillante mêle l’influence du synth-punk de la fin des 70’s, l’héritage d’une certaine chanson française et la modernité d’un son puissant dans la lignée d’artistes comme Suicide, Christophe, Etienne Daho, New Order, Jacno, et bien d’autres.

La chanson raconte l’histoire d’un drame intérieur : un jeune homme en état second, dans un club au milieu de la foule à six heures du matin, perd pied avec le réel. Il se projette héroïque, prince, ange déchu, figure tragique, et emploie toute son énergie à s’affirmer tel qu’il se fantasme pour contrer le doute qu’il a de sa propre existence.

Le clip, écrit par Hugo Jardin et réalisé par Thomas Kelly, mêle danse contemporaine (chorégraphie de Camille Cau), esthétique sombre et éléments cosmiques. Il met en image la fable du morceau : celle d’une personne qui plonge dans l’inconnu d’elle-même pour se retrouver.

Découvrant la musique par le Punk à seize ans, Hugo Jardin forme les groupes Malaparts à Paris, puis The Young Devotchkas à New York, avec lesquels il tourne pendant trois ans (notamment en 1res parties de Métal Urbain) et enregistre deux EPs. De retour en France, il s’exerce à la versification, publie un premier recueil de poèmes, et entame une formation de mime à l’École Internationale de Mime Corporel Dramatique et de danse Butô auprès du maître Masaki Iwana. Ces enseignements marquent profondément son approche artistique.

Parallèlement, Hugo compose, écrit, et réalise de nombreuses performances où se mêlent textes déclamés, musique improvisée et expression corporelle (en résidence au Théâtre Montmartre Galabru), avant de se tourner vers la chanson et la pop alternative. Engagé dans cette nouvelle direction, il enchaîne alors une quarantaine de dates en explorant les lieux les plus divers : un concert itinérant à travers les salles du Centre Georges Pompidou, le Stade du Bout du Monde à Genève, des squats du Nord de Paris, les Trois Baudets, etc.

Pendant la crise sanitaire, Hugo publie une série de vidéos sur les réseaux sociaux qui comptabilisent rapidement plus de 200 000 vues (dont plusieurs adaptations en français de Nirvana), compose de nouveaux titres et crée son label avec ses amis Tatiana F-Salomon, Natacha et Sacha Quester-Séméon. Ils produisent ensemble son premier single Nuit Vacillante, puis co-produisent son clip en collaboration avec Soldats Films et avec l’aide du CNC.

Récemment, Hugo retourne en studio où il termine son premier EP (à paraître prochainement) tout en poursuivant l’écriture de son premier roman.

Hailing from the Lone Star state of Texas, born and raised in Houston, Coline Creuzot, a singer/songwriter has an astonishing voice. Coline fell in love with the arts at a young age and always knew she was destined for greatness. If it isn’t her dynamic personality or her creative drive, Coline’s angelic voice and her passion for music is captivating. Coline started off performing at local competitions and continued to write and sing throughout her high school and college career.

Coline is not only an incredible voice, but also a scholar. After the singer/songwriter turned boss woman completed her undergraduate degree in Business Management at Hampton University, she decided to move back to Houston to pursue music full time. During this time and while experiencing the growing pains of life, detailed in many of her autobiographical songs, Coline was introduced to Happy Perez, a fellow Houstonian and producer who has worked with Miguel, Mariah Carey and Frank Ocean to name a few. They collaborated on a song called, ‘Give and Take’, that went on to become an immediate hit. ‘Give and Take’ climbed all the way to number 1 on the Houston Radio Charts. The success of the song granted Coline opportunities to open for some amazing artists such as Drake, Keyshia Cole, Monica, Tank to name a few. She later attracted a publishing deal with EMI (now Sony ATV).

Coline continued to grow as an artist and writer expanding her portfolio. Named “an artist at the forefront” by Ebony Magazine, in 2016 Coline’s single ‘Truth Is’ peaked at number 24 on Billboard’s Urban A/C charts. Coline’s music has been recognized by several blogs and magazines such as Vibe Magazine, Pynk Magazine and Singersroom, critics praised her for her writing ability and solid resume working with some of H-Town’s hottest artists such as Slim Thug, Lil Keke, Z-Ro and Paul Wall.

Coline made the jump to Los Angeles to pursue her artistry full time. Known for her strong soulful pipes and lyrical storytelling, Coline pays homage to old-school R&B with a relevant swagger which she showcased in 2017 at the Essence Festival debuting on the « For the Love of R&B » stage. Coline re-released « Truth Is » with a feature from the diamond princess Trina October 2019. Most recently Coline opened for Keyshia Cole, Tank, and K Michelle at the Arena Theater in Houston. They are glued together by two main elements: the melancholy incorporated in Rooker’s songwriting and his weeping, over-four-octave-spanning voice.

Je voulais démontrer qu’en France, il y a une sophistication dans la créativité musicale qui n’existe nulle part ailleurs. Je prends mon univers anglo-saxon et je le déplace dans un contexte français avec tous les personnages qui vont avec. C’est à la fois étrange, et fascinant.

Aujourd’hui, Caesar Spencer nous dévoile un 4ème extrait de l’album avec Get Out Into The Pigs, un titre très autobiographique qui démarre avec des souvenirs d’école et un clin d’oeil à Baschung (La Nuit Je Mens) et aussi à Nina Hagen (Antiworld).

Caesar Spencer nous offre un disque célébrant la luxuriance de la pop avec des arrangements baroques et une qualité d’écriture digne des meilleurs songwriters. Amoureux de la France et de sa culture, il parvient à mélanger ses influences rock anglo-saxonnes (The Kinks, David Bowie, The Smiths…), et une certaine sophistication française.

Le disque Get Out Into Yourself est avant tout un hommage affectueux à la France, une nation qui a ravivé à elle seule l’étincelle créative de Caesar. «

Ce disque est tout simplement une lettre d’amour à la France. Je voulais donner quelque chose en retour à un pays qui m’a tant offert. Et je voulais mettre en lumière cet art musical français incroyablement sophistiqué. Les Français ont une façon de faire les choses qui me paraît inégalée et bizarrement pas si connue à l’étranger.

Une fois établi à Paris en 2008, Caesar a commencé à enregistrer au Studio La Fugitive avec le producteur Gaétan Boudy. Aux côtés de la chanteuse Jacqueline Taïeb (sur Waiting for Sorrow), on retrouve également Jean Felzine de Mustang (sur Waiting for Sorrow) et sa partenaire la chanteuse Jo Wedin. L’icône du punk français Gilles Tandy (Les Olivensteins) prête également ses talents à l’album. La chanteuse Mareva Galanter est venue interpréter le morceau de pop baroque When I Whisper In Your Ear. L’enregistrement de l’album a été peaufiné avec les musiciens Fred Lafage à la guitare, à la basse et aux claviers et Frantxoa Erreçarret à la batterie.

Achevé en 2022, le disque propose onze chansons d’une pop élégante et sophistiquée s’affranchissant des frontières et parvenant à réconcilier la pop britannique et la pop française, Caesar Spencer nous livre un album riche en émotions. Ave Caesar !

Made up of Yassine Belkhou on vocals and guitar, Krishna Kasim on electric guitar, Oscar Joe Gross on bass and Tony Lesage on drums, to see YAZ perform live is to truly experience their magic.

With sold-out shows at London’s iconic The Troubadour and Mercato already under their belt, a headline slot at Camden Rocks Festival this summer, and being in the running for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent competition, the band’s distinctive blend of indie-folk, paired with deep introspective lyrics, all wrapped up in lead singer Yassine’s captivatingly soulful vocals is – evidently – something that deeply resonates with their audience.

With YAZ standing for You Are Zen, the band create music to promote change from within. Drawing on their multicultural roots, their music fuses several philosophical attitudes together to try and negotiate life’s challenges. Focusing on silver linings, their message encourages listeners to recognise and embrace hope.

Naming The Lumineers, Beck and Kaleo as their main musical inspirations, the band thrive on being able to experiment with their music and the concepts and emotions they’re able to portray through their songwriting. Originally formed by Yassine as a solo act, the band all met through a series of coincidences, and it’s now, as a four piece, that they have truly honed their unique sound.

Written in response to London’s homeless crisis, Yassine says,

“I wrote the track during Christmas 2021, I was spending Christmas alone in my flat in London. I was really struggling with seasonal depression, so I went for a walk around Maida Vale where I saw homeless people struggling with the bitter cold, yet still finding the energy within themselves to smile and greet people. Moments of deep struggle often present individuals with a dilemma: to give up or persevere. In the case of homeless people, despite their monumental challenges they still choose to persevere, and we can learn from this. Hard times present an opportunity to discover yourself and come out the other end in a more enlightened manner.

The world we live in now is riddled with nihilistic and pessimistic tendencies. Everywhere we look there is always discussion of how things are going wrong or how we as a society are failing. It is very easy to fall into that trap and adopt a mindset that impedes the ability to practise empathy and kindness. Yet, humans are incapable of being true nihilists because we see society show glimmers of hope, whether that be in showing compassion to family or congregating to catalyse change for others (BLM, Climate Change Protests). These acts, small or big, showcase that hope is always existent despite troubling times and the song aims to capture this. The message of the song is to identify and never let go of that sense of hope because it is what makes us human. No matter how microscopic that sense of hope may be, embrace it because it is that sense of hope that will guide you to strive for bigger and better things.”

Hailing from all corners of the word, the members of YAZ all met in the cultural melting pot that is London, where they all now call home. Yassine was born and raised in Montreal but originally from Morocco, Krishna is from India and is a self-proclaimed ‘third-culture kid’, Tony is from France and Oscar is from Australia. Yassine says, “

I grew up playing American football and aspired to be in the NFL. After a significant stint with mental health in 2019 I found myself stuck and lost with what to do with my life. Music was something that had always helped me in any situation and been the most consistent thing in my life.”

Krishna says,

“I am what they consider a third-culture kid. Although I was born in India and consider myself an Indian citizen, I have never lived in the country. Soon after being born I moved to Kuwait, followed up by Malaysia, Brunei and then the UK for university. Considering this, I always struggled with the notion of what home really means because I had never completely assimilated into or identified with any of these cultures. Music, therefore, for me was a form of identification. Regardless of who I am or what my beliefs are I could always relate to my peers and my surroundings with music.

”

The band truly believe that this was a meeting of fate, and use that notion to further fuel their passion to spread messages of positivity and joy into the world. 2023 shows no signs of slowing down for YAZ – watch this space.

La chanteuse et compositrice luxembourgeoise Claire Parsons est de retour le 25/05/2023 avec son nouveau projet The Aquatic Museum. On retrouve dans ce collectif des artistes d’horizons très variés, à la fois des musiciens accomplis et des artistes multimédias.

L’album The Aquatic Museum est inspiré par les œuvres de Sufjan Stevens, d’Emiliana Torrini et d’Agnes Obel, et invite les auditeurs à se plonger dans les secrets des mondes aquatiques inexplorés. Les cordes, les instruments électroniques, les chœurs, les enjeux de piano délicats et les riffs de guitare captivants, créent un son qui évoque une plongée dans les profondeurs marines.

Voici un projet musical ambitieux et interdisciplinaire qui se décline même en application digitale pour tous ceux qui souhaitent découvrir le monde marin de The Aquatic Museum.

Claire Parsons, née au Luxembourg en 1993, est une compositrice et musicienne luxembourgeoise d’origine britannique. Après avoir étudié le piano classique et jazz, la guitare classique et électrique et le chant classique, elle a obtenu son master en Jazz au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, sous la supervision du chanteur de jazz belge David Linx et du pianiste Diederik Wissels.

Sa participation à de nombreux projets en tant que musicienne et compositrice lui a permis de jouer sur de nombreuses scènes et festivals nationaux et internationaux, et lui ont permis d’être remarquée par des professionnels, magazines et radios du monde entier.

L’Aquatic Museum Band associe habilement la palette de couleurs de l’harmonie du jazz, l’élégance d’un ensemble de chambre et l’énergie d’un groupe de pop. Des compositions élaborées avec soin nous entraînent dans un voyage qui réinvente soigneusement le son de la pop.

Born and Based in Sweden, Marcus Friman, known as Land Of Trees, is a nature-inspired musician who, with each song, tells the tale of a small-town boy, lost between pine trees but finding his way in a strange world. Enchanted by the mountains, he began using poetry to describe his surroundings, which he later floated upon the river of music. “‘Things I Don’t Know.. Yet’ is a step back to basics. When I recorded my first album, we recorded a lot of what you hear live. Since then I’ve been doing two albums with a lot of metronome-struggle and retakes. I realized I had to reset to where music mattered most. So this time we rehearsed it together thoroughly, stayed over at Studio Glasfågeln for the entire recording of the album and recorded almost everything live. It was such a great feeling to play off each other’s tempo and spontaneity again; we had the best time playing and staying together, and I think it shines through in this record.”

Louis Arlette annonce la sortie de son EP Sacrilèges, qui revisite et adapte quelques-uns des plus beaux poèmes de la langue française.

De Baudelaire à Villon, de Ronsard à Musset en passant par Gérard de Nerval, Louis Arlette s’est épris de ces poèmes et leur a imaginé une habillage entre rock et électro qui risque de surprendre plus d’un amoureux de la langue française.

Jamais encore, les poèmes français n’auront semblé si vivant et modernes.  »

Après A son âme de Pierre de Ronsard, Louis Arlette nous dévoile un poème célèbre de François Villon, La Ballade des Pendus.

François Villon, poète truand à la vie tourmentée, a écrit sa ballade des pendus en 1462, dans sa geôle, la veille de sa pendaison. Il sera finalement gracié in extremis pour devenir le premier poète maudit de l’histoire. Je pourrais ajouter : la première rockstar sulfureuse

Louis Arlette est de retour avec son EP Sacrilèges, qui adapte cinq des plus beaux poèmes de la langue française en ne s’interdisant aucune expérimentation. Sur ce disque, La Ballade des Pendus de François Villon, le spleen de Baudelaire, le romantisme de Gérard de Nerval, la mélancolie de Ronsard et la « Tristesse » de Musset se retrouvent transfigurés, rendus méconnaissables par le traitement musical que Louis Arlette leur a imaginé.

Sur cet EP enregistré et mixé dans son propre studio, Louis Arlette approfondit deux qualités que l’on retrouve sur chacun de ses trois albums : l’amour de la littérature française, et des goûts musicaux anglo-saxons qui l’emmènent vers David Bowie, The Cure, Joy Division ou Nine Inch Nails.
