is a face first collision course into the dark corners of a speed induced lifestyle. Whereas « Trigger Finger »

takes place in a school, a grocery store, a parade, a place of worship or just about any other public gathering place in America. « Blood Knot » acknowledges the roots you grew out of and the tree limbs you wish to keep attached while others tear off in the wind. In contrast to the beginning of the EP, « Mourning Coffee »

makes a distinction between codependency and partnerships that are chosen and decisively cared for while the world is falling apart around you. « Incremental » is a mediation to stay on the course of progress and empowerment, despite the shadows that closely follow.

They formed way back in 2017 and started sharing musical ideas and remixes. As two self-taught electronic producers, Ditte Angelo and Marie Friis explored the world of gear and tech, creating an uncompromising sound full of their raw, artistic energy.

Spring & I have released only a handful of singles and remixes since but are now ready with their first collected work; an EP which will depict how Spring & I balance the heaviness from club music with pensive themes. With inspiration from the dry and raw sound from UK garage, Ditte & Marie deliver warped electronica on their dark new single, ‘Believe Me’, out today, December 1st.

“The first tones were created under the pandemic and despite the many frustrations the lockdown caused, it gave us room to seek deeper in who we are and what we want to create together,”

the duo says and continue:

« ‘Believe Me’ emerged from a strong need to take back some of the control you are suppressed by as a woman when you live in a society with uneven, rigid power structures. The song almost wrote itself and encapsulates a drive to gain redemption, and set the tone for more new tracks to come.”

Based in Copenhagen, Spring & I have become a creative force of their own, also creating their edgy visual profile and artwork along with their music and as an unpredictable electronic live act.

Called « Used to Be », the single details the complexities of romantic relationships specifically when they were heightened during the pandemic. Sonically, “Used to Be” features hazy guitars, warm melodies and atmospheric soundscapes that are on the edge of uncontrollable making for an enthralling listen. The accompanying cinematic music video was directed and created by Farmer and profiles a troubled relationship representing the highs, the lows and the mundane moments in a non-linear fashion.

The Know began in late 2018 when Daniel Knowles suggested to his wife, Jennifer Farmer, that instead of traveling home for the holidays (to the UK and Texas respectively) that the LA based transplants stay put and try to create music together, just the two of them. This would be the married couple’s gift to themselves.

For the next few weeks, they isolated themselves in their home studio with no real plan, just a mutual love of Beach House, Julee Cruise, Ye Ye, The Jesus and Mary Chain, 60’s girl groups, dream pop, and the evocative storytelling lyricism of Patsy Cline and The National.

The result was their debut EP shared in 2020, a stunning blend of dream pop and shoegaze. Entitled

the six track

collection of songs provided an unflinching look at the couple, delving deep into the duo’s personal lives by honestly narrating stories from their relationship and life experiences against a kaleidoscopic sonic palette. Leading single ‘143′ melded autobiographical with fantastical lyrics and unfolds as a series of conversations, images, and hazy recollections of a night out. The Know’s upcoming highly anticipated second EP (EP2) is lyrically full of relatable snapshots of love, loss, isolation, uncertainty, sadness and connection. Completed during the pandemic and in a time of intense isolation, the EP was produced by Farmer and Knowles and mostly recorded in their home studio in a short span of time.

Et des traditions, il en est question dans cet album qui s’ouvre comme une botte de Noël où se trouvent pêle-mêle Santa, bonhommes de neige, cadeaux, houx, Auld Lang Syne mais aussi (et surtout): pommes de terre rôties, cuisses de jambon, jus de viande, dinde, gâteaux, biscuits apéritifs et quelques miettes. Rien d’étonnant pour un artiste qui se trouve également être chef cuisinier !

S’il n’est pas question d’alcool, on se doute bien que ce sera présent alors que les chansons tanguent entre mélancolie au coin du feu et hymnes rassembleurs à chanter ensemble autour de la table. Des titres enivrants, émouvants, et quelques ovnis 80’s et bluegrass, toujours liés par cette voix de crooner, dignes d’une fin de soirée (et d’une fin d’album) bien arrosée.

Les Lehmanns Brothers sont de retour avec The Youngling Vol 2, leur nouvel EP enregistré en live aux Alhambra Studios.

Avec ce quintet et leur nombreux invités, impossible de rester assis sur son siège. Leur groove fusionne des accords de jazz avec des éléments de hip-hop, de neo-soul et de house. Les Lehmanns Brothers relèvent le défi du mélange entre une interprétation contemporaine du jazz, de funk et d’afrobeat. Derrière ce son unique, fait de rythmes explosifs et de voix incroyables, on retrouve les influences de Prince, James Brown, Maceo Parker, The Roots ou encore A Tribe Called Quest

Après avoir sorti l’EP The Youngling vol.1, en 2021, les Lehmanns Brothers continuent l’aventure en 2022 pour présenter The Youngling vol.2. On retrouve sur ce disque cinq titres qui prolongent l’histoire et dévoilent préoccupations, illusions et sensations à travers de nouvelles compositions propres, le tout sur un groove chaleureux et énergétique. The Youngling vol.2 est un opus spécialement enregistré et capté sur un format de live session à l’Alhambra Studios. On découvre dans une vidéo de 25 minutes l’intégralité de la session.

C’est à Angoulême qu’en 2012, dans un petit garage de l’avenue Lehmann, que se sont retrouvés cinq lycéens en option musique, frères de groove partageant la même passion pour les rythmes-afro-américains. Influencés par des funkers tels que Prince, Ghost-Note ou D’Angelo, les petits frenchies entendent revisiter à leur tour le fameux jazz-funk des seventies, tout en y instillant des échos hip-hop, house et nu-soul.

Les Lehmanns Brothers sont principalement un groupe de scène, qui tourne considérablement en France mais également au-delà des frontières: Belgique, Allemagne, Espagne, Italie, Angleterre…

Avec son triangle rythmique infernal (Clément Jourdan à la basse, Alvin Amaïzo à la guitare et Dorris Biayenda à la batterie) qu’appuient des cuivres enflammés (avec Jordan Soivin au trombone accompagné par Jonas Muel sur la tournée) et le chant et les claviers de Julien Anglade, on ne résiste pas longtemps à leur répertoire qui donne des fourmis dans les jambes et transforme chacun de leur concert en une grande messe du groove. Ils viennent de sortir sur le label 10H10 The Youngling Vol2, leur nouvel EP enregistré en session live aux Alhambra Studios.

Cet évènement donne lieu à une collaboration artistique inédite, qui offre à Ayélé et Laurent, l’opportunité d’être les compositeurs pour moitié de la BO de « Les Derniers Parisiens », le 1er long métrage du groupe

sorti en 2016.

Les sonorités «Jamaïque vintage» sont une source d’inspiration certaine, pour l’album à venir, et ce grâce à un disque vinyle de rocksteady jamaïcain du label « Studio One » retrouvé par hasard après un deuil…

L’émotion intense , la joie retrouvée , les souvenirs ont déclenché le désir profond de chanter, de célébrer , de partager la musique soul , rocksteady, folk jamaïcaine.

Des musiciens émérites viennent prêter main forte pour l’enregistrement d’un album à venir en octobre 2022.

Sur scène, Ayélé au chant, évoluera en trio accompagnée de Laurent à la basse et programmations et de Sébastien De Laleu (un des plus grand complice de cette aventure soul jamaïcaine) à la batterie.

Cimo Fränkel was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he grew up around his father, a funk musician who would invite Cimo to join him in the studio and enlighten him on the DIY ethos of funk culture. At age fifteen, Cimo would explore music production and collaborate with other young and passionate Dutch musicians. The musician has cited the works of Michael Jackson and Huey Lewis as highly inspirational to the artist he is today. His own sound contains elements of The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean and Tate McRae.

Cinq ans après l’album La Nuit Philarmonique, Delphine Coutant est de retour avec son sixième album 2 Systèmes Solaires, enregistré avec un Octuor à Cordes, et qui sort d’abord en digital le 02 décembre 2022, puis en physique le 03 février 2023.

La chanteuse, qui entretient un rapport fusionnel à la nature, nous dévoile avec le disque 2 Systèmes Solaires ses nouvelles chansons aux textes surréalistes et aux musiques matinées d’influences classiques et discrètement pop.

Pour écrire la partition pour Octuor de l’album 2 Systèmes Solaires, Delphine Coutant a étudié durant quatre ans l’écriture musicale, l’arrangement, l’orchestration au Conservatoire de musique de Nantes. Elle a été en résidence au Laboratoire de Planétologie et Géosciences de Nantes, au Planetarium de Nantes et aux réserves muséales du Muséum d’Histoire naturelle de Nantes.

Premier extrait de l’album, Delphine Coutant nous embarque dans La Galaxie du Sculpteur. Le clip a été filmé en répétition par Yannis Pachaud, et montre ce foisonnement de matières et de sons, au plus près de chaque musicien-ne, à travers un mouvement de caméra qui ne cesse de tourner lentement comme dans la rotation des planètes.

Delphine Coutant aime se définir comme une trobairitz (femme troubadour) du XXIème siècle. Poétesse, compositrice, musicienne, mais aussi un temps paludière, son oeuvre se nourrit d’un lien fort à la nature.

Concertos perchés dans des arbres remarquables, festival salé perché au coeur des salines ou transhumance flottante avec Le piano du Lac, elle développe un réseau de diffusion insolite en totale harmonie avec sa poésie et en concordance avec ses désirs de tournées plus vertueuses sur le plan environnemental.

Pour écrire la partition pour Octuor de 2 Systèmes Solaires, elle a étudié durant quatre ans l’écriture musicale, l’arrangement, l’orchestration au Conservatoire de musique de Nantes. Elle a été en résidence au Laboratoire de Planétologie et Géosciences de Nantes, au Planetarium de Nantes et aux réserves muséales du Muséum d’Histoire naturelle de Nantes.

«A l’instar d’une Camille, de Claire Diterzi et de quelques autres, Delphine Coutant bouscule les règles un peu trop convenues de la chanson française en nous faisant voyager dans un univers étrange, éclaté, qui, si l’on était obligé de faire des comparaisons, pourrait se rattacher à ceux de Brigitte Fontaine (pour le côté absurde de certains textes) ou de Kate Bush (pour les prises de risque musical). Musicienne autant que chanteuse, elle invente beaucoup, surprend et impose son intrigante originalité.
