Levina is an independent singer-songwriter who continues to enchant listeners with her contagious musicality and enthralling emotion. Born in Germany, the London-based artist continues to carve out her own realm of alternative pop inspired by the soul. Having been described as a “spellbinding sonic force” her mesmerising sound instantly catches your attention, while her profound lyrics connect with your heart.

Returning with her new single « Battleground », an emotional and personal insight into Levina’s journey with mental health, she showcases impeccable creativity. Written by Levina and co-produced by Swedish collaborator Hannes Andersson, her latest single comes to life with humbling authenticity. Exploring the idea that things on the inside are not always as they seem from the outside, “Battleground” unfolds with a more unusual and romantic 6/8 time signature. This juxtaposition is also conveyed through the brilliant musical production and compelling chronicles, creating a sonic peak when paired with Levina’s euphoric vocal energy.

Levina explains, « I wrote Battleground about my struggles with mental health. I didn’t speak about it a lot, because I felt like no one would understand me and I would be a burden to people. However, after I got regular therapy, through Help Musicians and BAPAM, I realised the importance of opening up, because there are other people who are going through similar situations.”

Levina’s unparalleled strength and passion for alt-pop continue to blossom. With fables inspired by relationships with ourselves and each other, Levina continues to explore what it truly means to be human. Hoping to enable her listeners to feel understood, accepted and inspired, Levina’s resonance shines brightly. Her musical talent can be attributed to the variety of influences, from artists as diverse as Anastacia, Avril Lavigne to Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald and Skunk Anansie. Spirited singer and producer MARIA Die RUHE will be releasing a remix of her previously released single,

‘DANCE OR WE ARE LOST’,

on the 11th of November via Reduced To The Root Records. Notably, the remix premiered on House Music With Love. The original single was remixed by multi-instrumentalist Techno and House producer Semodi who explores the outer edge of electronic music, composing music rich in analog sound design, adding a touch of spontaneity to his music. In the press, his music has been featured in industry publications such as THE CLUBMAP, Yourstru.ly, WhiteLight/WhiteHeat, Chromatic Club, and Living Techno and aired on the German radio station Byte FM. The remix offers aspects of Röyksopp, Lykke Li, MØ, Stephan Bodzin, and Eli & Fur.

Born in Thuringia, Germany, but currently residing in Leipzig, Germany, MARIA Die RUHE, and her love of travel, has seen the globe. She has previously lived in Berlin, San Francisco, and London and performed on several stages across Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, and Turkey. MARIA brings new-found enthusiasm to each and every show. Her work has previously been supported by CLASH Magazine, Notion Magazine, Metal Magazine, Tonspion, Glamglare, trndmsk among others and earned her over 10 million streams on her Spotify top 10 alone.

Berlin-based live performer and Electronic DJ Semodi blends Progressive House and Techno with the catchy hooks of pop and the harmonic depth of classical music. In recent years, Semodi has released tracks with labels like Bonzai Progressive and Heimlich. Last year, his first EP

was released under Thisbe Recordings alongside remixes by Nico Pusch, Melokind, and Theus Mago. Of late, the artist has been touring Germany’s electronic music festivals with his live-act Mojoy, namely Fusion, Katzensprung, Wilde Möhre. as a DJ, he has been playing sets at Berlin’s nightclubs Renate and Ritter Butzke.

Semodi’s remix is an edgy reinterpretation of MARIA Die RUHE’s original record

‘DANCE OR WE ARE LOST’

. Having sprinkled techno tropes and layered syncopated hi-hats over a loop of MARIA’s infectious chorus lyric, the producer intensifies the quirky avant-garde undertone, using retro filters to push and pull her vocal across the mix while deep, thumping kicks hammer against crunchy basslines and harmonic plucks.

Semodi tells us how his remix came together:

“The original mix of DOWAL already has super nice vocals and very relatable lyrics, so I felt I had to add a kick-ass bass line to really make you want to dance. Also, I wanted to give the vocals a musical context that really embraces the message of the track in the final drop. So I created some epic synth pads that made me feel this yearning for salvation in dancing.”

Cal in Red is an indie pop/rock project started by brothers Connor and Kendall Wright (Grand Rapids, MI). The band is named after their youngest brother Cal, who at one point had a particular fascination with red t-shirts. The band formed in the summer of 2019. The music was hazy and summery, jangly and guitar driven. Opāru confides, « Gold is the hope in us all for a better place, the internal drive of our heart. Opāru is the stunning musical endeavor of Los Angeles-based songwriter, singer, and actress Dianna St. Hilaire. Opāru’s music can be described as electro with a dark ethereal undertone. Combined with dreamy operatic vocals, Opāru’s work creates a unique depiction of modern synth-pop culture.

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, St. Hilaire started to write and perform music at a very young age in choir and musicals. Self-taught, her first instrument was the piano and she worked tirelessly at the craft of reading and writing music. When St. Hilaire was in her late teens she began performing with punk bands and for producers as a backup/ studio vocalist in New Mexico, where she took on her first musical alias, the highly successful group Versailles. Partnering with the infamous Kim Fowley (The Runaways, Kiss, Joan Jett, Alice Cooper), she has toured the US extensively, been featured on the official Grammy ballots, as well as charting on Billboard. Versailles’s music was also on rotation with popular stations across the U.S. including KROQ and NPR tastemaker KCRW.

St. Hilaire reinvented herself in late 2015 with the new project Opāru, deriving from the Japanese name of the birthstone opal. Opāru’s roots stem from experimental electronic, 80s synth-pop, and alternative rock. She confides, “The underlying theme in my music is the workings of the inner voice. The internal person that lingers buried under insecurities and fears. Why are there so many? Why do we as human beings tolerate environments where these feelings are projected onto us?” Her influences range from Madonna, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, The Cure, Lykke Li, Lana Del Rey, Halsey and SOHN.

Currently, Opāru is working with various music libraries in the United States including Megatrax, MPath and APM. Overseas EMI, and Universal Music. She recently just finished her second release with Megatrax music We Are Eternity which can be found on all major outlets including Spotify and Pandora.

Opāru’s current EP is GOLD, produced by Niko Korolog and mixed by Nick Dillinger. The EP is a testament to the human struggle and the many stages of that struggle. Featuring dark melodies, acoustic guitars, shimmery 80 synth pop beats and powerful orchestral movements. Gold is the hope in us all for a better place, the internal drive of our heart. Cimo Fränkel was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he grew up around his father, a funk musician who would invite Cimo to join him in the studio and enlighten him on the DIY ethos of funk culture. At age fifteen, Cimo would explore music production and collaborate with other young and passionate Dutch musicians. The musician has cited the works of Michael Jackson and Huey Lewis as highly inspirational to the artist he is today. His own sound contains elements of The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean and Tate McRae.

‘Closed The Door’

sees Cimo Fränkel letting go of lost love. Catchy yet intimate, the song delves to the bottom of his emotions and makes space for him to be vulnerable and share his thoughts.
