Versatile DJ and Producer Florian Picasso released his latest record

‘Ay Papi’

on the 20th of January 2023 via the brand new imprint La Californie Musique, which is making its debut with the release. Notably, the single was premiered on Dancing Astronaut. Picasso is no stage name, Florian is the great-grandson of the mighty Pablo Picasso.

‘Tomorrow’

, a collaboration with hip-hop star NAS and famed singer-songwriter John Legend. Florian Picasso was included in DJ Mag’s list of top 100 DJs numerous times, reaching a rank of

. He now plays shows all around the world with up to 100 shows a year and some of the biggest festivals like Tomorrowland or Ultra Miami.

Florian spent a lot of time in Cannes, soaking up the artistic atmosphere of the Villa Californie where he later installed his music studio. This hobby quickly turned into a passion and a couple of years later, Florian decided to completely dedicate himself to music and to carry on the family’s artistic legacy.

“Music was always a way to express myself from an early age. I always felt like I never fitted in. Being adopted and having a genius ancestor by adoption I felt like music was a way to stand out by being different but yet staying in the art realm”

, says Florian.

He recently paid tribute to his great grandfather in the most artistic and innovative way with some exceptional shows in the unique location that is the Picasso Villa ‘La Californie’. Most importantly, he is writing his own story with his own signature, never limiting his creative mind.

‘Ay Papi’

is a hard-hitting dance floor banger. Thumping kicks and rave stabs drive this tech house anthem forward with hypnotising latino vocals, seducing listeners to the Florian way of life. Painted in a colour palette of his choosing, his single captures the intimacy between lovers on the dance floor, reminiscent of Tchami and Malaa.

Speaking about the new single, Florian Picasso tells us:

“This track is the genesis of a new era for me. It was a fun process trying to blend older sounds of mine with the new « Picasso sounds » I envision. Moreover I really tried to produce a fun record to transition from the old to the new me.”

Au sein de ce projet, l’artiste se pose les questions d’un jeune homme de son âge, et s’interroge notamment sur l’amour et ce qu’il peut englober : Le coup de foudre, la trahison au sein du couple, les relations à sens unique…

A propos de cet opus, il confie joliment : « Chacune de mes compositions, chacun de mes textes, porte le poids de mes espoirs et de mes illusions ».

L’heure est venue de prendre mon envol. Vivre ma musique et le rêve de cet enfant qui, pratiquant le piano depuis l’âge de cinq ans, souhaite offrir son cœur comme un livre ouvert.

Je m’appelle Gab Nach. J’ai 19 ans et je suis fier de vous présenter mon premier album : Alter Ego. Une aventure artistique hors du commun et à travers laquelle je me révèle tout entier : chacune de mes compositions, chacun de mes textes, porte le poids amoureux de mes espoirs et de mes illusions.

Mes horizons musicaux sont à mon image : pluriel ! D’abord, ma formation classique : Chopin, Mozart, ou encore Ravel, autant de compagnons de fortune qui m’accompagnent et me nourrissent depuis toujours. Leur génie est ma plus grande force : celle de l’excellence et de l’universel.

Ensuite, mes parents. En effet, mes parents et moi avons eu la chance de voyager beaucoup. Cet accès privilégié à d’autres cultures, mais également identités musicales, m’influence chaque jour : j’aime le monde et ses sonorités ; c’est pourquoi, je compose essentiellement du R’n’b Afro-Love, du R’n’b Drill et du Trap.

Enfin, la langue française. Sans mots, nous ne sommes rien. Ils sont mes alliés les plus fidèles, ma plus belle leçon d’humilité. Aujourd’hui, je suis polyglotte. Je souhaite mon art une voix du monde.

Entre rock, jazz cosmique, et funk, Electric Blue Cats a sorti son premier album largement salué par la critique. Le trio composé du batteur Salah Khaïli, du guitariste Christophe « Tito »Taddei et du bassiste Emmanuel, impose sa virtuosité et s’entend comme personne pour faire décoller l’auditeur et à ne jamais le lâcher.Après nous avoir dévoilé Dark Floor, Fresh Spring et Groove On The Eggs, Electric Blue Cats sort Change Your Partner, un titre funky et dansant à voir en clip vidéo.

La musique des Electric Blue Cats est un alliage précieux composé de plusieurs styles incluant le rock, la funk ainsi qu’un soupçon de musique africaine. A l’écoute de ce trio hors norme, on pense immédiatement à des groupes mythiques comme Cymande, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, ou bien Tame Impala.Dès les premières notes, on est hypnotisé par les rythmiques magiques du batteur extraordinaire Salah Khaïli, les vagues de riffs et de soli de guitare de l’incroyable Christophe ‘Tito’ Taddei, et la basse puissante d’Emmanuel qui cimente et démultiplie l’énergie du trio.

Tout au long de l’album, les effets électroniques élaborés avec les instruments – guitare, basse, batterie- créent une rythmique funk très syncopée. La ligne de basse d’Emmanuel sert de clef de voûte de chacun des 8 morceaux. Elle est agrémentée par le jeu pur et tranchant du batteur Salah Khaïli et rehaussée par mélodies aériennes du guitariste Christophe « Tito » Taddei. L’instrumental reste de part en part aux avant-postes sur cet album. Sans détour, les compositions des Electric Blue Cats font la part belle à la culture rock, dansante et jouissive. Sa version fait ressortir la tension du morceau et ses éléments percussifs majestueux, reflétant sa beauté délicate et scintillante.

Le remix atteint de nouveaux sommets avec les vocalises de l’étoile montante du r&b Shygirl, invitée ici en featuring.

Before she was Party Nails, Elana Carroll was a guitar-toting tween songwriter, playing any open mic she could near her hometown of Chatham, New York. Performing solo or with a band of seasoned adult players backing her up, she wailed lyrics about her family’s divorce, dreams of leaving her small town, and a then-undiagnosed anxiety disorder across biker bars and community centers, often met with tears from patrons moved by her fearless expression of raw emotion. At home she recorded herself with Garageband, instigating a love of music technology which continues to this day (she moonlights as a software tester and composer for boutique synthesizer company Noise Engineering).

Party Nails debuted in 2015 on Neon Gold’s famed blog with “Break”, a heartbreak dancepop single following the footsteps of happysad classics such as “Dancing On My Own” and “Blue Monday”. WESSON is a British alt/rock band led by singer/songwriter Chris Wesson. Based in Milton Keynes, the four-piece band was formed under the mutual decision to find like-minded souls who needed music as part of their everyday life and essence to their being. Along with bassist Callum, guitarist Jimmy, and drummer Dale, WESSON creates music which is relatable, conversational and meaningful.
